Description

Up for bid is a HTF, Beethoven Violin Sonata Society, Vol. 1, Fritz Kreisler & Franz Rupp, Complete Set of Seven 78 RPM Discs, manufactured in Hayes, Middlesex, England, by The Gramophone Co., Ltd., His Master's Voice, British Patent No. 382,703.  The discs come in their original cover. I wiped down the discs and closely analyzed the condition and conservatively grade them at VG+.  Any scratches are light and a needle should pass over them (I did not play test discs).  It's tough to find old 78s in good shape, but these were well-cared for/not played much.  The following are condition notes:
Cover Condition:  VG+, top of spine cut-off, some light stains/marks, a little musty odor, interior sleeves excellent with no rips.
Discs Condition:  VG+, some spotting/scuffs/marks.  Side 4, Sonata No. 2 in A Major, Op. 12 with 3 small pin marks felt with passing fingernail, Side 2, Sonata No. 1 in D Major, Op. 12 No. 1, 1st Mvmt. with long light scratch partly felt with passing fingernail, Side 3 Sonata No. 1 in D Major Op. 12 No. 1, 2nd Mvmt. with light, small scratch in middle, and Side 2, Sonata No. 2 in A Major, Op. 12 No. 2, 1st Mvmt. with 2-3 pin marks felt with fingernail.
