MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original RCA Vik Records very first MONO press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1969 by RCA S.A. Electrónica (RCA Records Chile), catalog number LZ-1150, with hand etched matrix numbers LZ-1150-A EB in Side 1 and LZ-1150-A EB in Side 2, with yellow/black RCA Vik Records labels. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“EL EXTRAÑO DEL PELO LARGO” is the debut album by the Argentinian freakbeat band La Joven Guardia, originally released in 1969 and the same year we could see this great debut album released here in Chile and like so many times in that period, we got it with an UNIQUE COVER made of a single piece of a very thin cardboard folded in the middle faking a gatefold cover with 2 sheets of paper for front and back cover attached to the cardboard (partially glued in the mouth edge) and kept all together by a plastic bag. Front and back covers keep strictly the Argentinian original artwork and design, with the only differences that in Chile the tracklist informs the credits for songwriters of each song, at bottom left corner it’s a boxed add of Avianca Airlines and in front cover the VIK and RCA Records logo at both top corners are blue. Labels also keep the original deisgn, with album title at top, the tracklist with credits for songwriters in each song and the name of the band at the bottom. So, here you have the chance to get this great album of LA JOVEN GUARDIA, one of the rarest records from Argentina beat, listed in Pokora books with 2 “records” the original Argentinian issue, but sure this Chilean press with UNIQUE COVER is much rarer!!! WOW!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clear and clean, no writings, no blemishes, some light bends and creases, with some little rips, more evident at mid top edge, with general wear, some age browning and little holes in all edges, some past owner had the “brilliant” idea to use square brackets to keep the sheets for front and back covers attached to the cardboard, but anyway they don’t really affect the look of the cover, only caused the little damage at mid top edge already informed. The record is in strong VG or VG+ condition both sides, clean, clear and glossy, with some scuffs, light hairlines and some soft scratches (sure they were mainly caused for those square brackets), which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX+ or NM- condition both sides, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is in great EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some occasional crackles here and there, more evident in silent parts and between tracks, which don’t cause any distraction from the great sound this album keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, a great record with still a great look, maybe not for strict Minty minds or audiophiles but with a nice and enjoyable sound quality after about 54 years, which won't disappoint anyone and will satisfy any serious collector who know the level of rarity of this record!!! An album to hear and enjoy from the beginning to the end, with an UNIQUE COVER and listed in Pokora books with two records for level of rarity, a great example of Argentinian freakbeat!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
