La Monte Young Drift Study 5 VIII 68 Original Lathe Cut LP Kikusui 001 Mint!

Mint/unplayed copy of this insanely rare clear lathe cut LP issued in a limited edition of only 50 copies by the Japanese Kikusui records in 2005 in generic black sleeve with large white sticker on front and back with tracks listing and credits: “double speed version original & retrograde, tape realisation for SMS vol.4, Roaring Fork Press, NY, frequency and amplitude ratios tuned by the composer and a moog synthesizer utilizing its sine wave oscillators, mixer & lowpass filter.” A very rare glimpse into the music of the Dream Syndicate/Theatre Of Eternal Music (that featured a pre-Velvet Underground John Cale, Tony Conrad, Marian Zazeela and Angus MacLise) and a particularly brain-razzing recording. Rarely offered, especially in Mint/Unplayed condition such as this. Classic 20th century minimalism. This is a hand-cut lathe LP, bear this in mind when bidding.
