Review: 'Scorpio's View' is a treasure for soundtrack collectors and jazz-funk devotees alike that now gets a limited reissue having disappeared quickly the first time around. Featuring two tracks from the iconic Dirty Harry score that, aside from this 45 have not been on vinyl before, Schifrin's signature tension and cinematic swagger are on full display, capturing the grit and unease of 1970s San Francisco. Masterfully arranged and freshly remastered, 'Scorpio's View' is eerie with the sound of swinging metal signs, distant melodic shimmers and live, jazzy drums. 'The School Bus (alternative version' is darker and more direct with mean undertones that tap into Schifrin's genius at the height of his creative powers. Vintage but vital.
Makes a great gift for any CLINT EASTWOOD fanatic.
