ORIGINAL PRESS - NOT A REPRESS!!!……if you're in early Jamaican music this one's A DEFINITE MUST for you.....coming from around 1960 these are PRIME EXAMPLES of vintage JA music....to be honest: I'm not the greatest fan of JA R&B....but this performance by Mr. Aitken - later becoming skinhead's godfather of ska + early reggae - is ruff & tuff & strikkly convincing - NO KIDDIN' this is JA R&B at its very very best - a real killer tune!!!....it's funny that while Laurel's side is obviously not a ska-piece of music the PINK LANE SHUFFLE by Duke Reid's Group wears the "Shuffle" in its title but is already at the edge from shuffle to ska.......great vintage music from VERY YOUNG JAMAICA.....HISTORY * MUSIC * GREAT SOUNDS on the very first UK DUKE label - a "Melodisc" subsidiary - from the early 60s....don't miss.....COLLECTORS, SOUNDBWOYS & SOUNDGALS… watch out …ORIGINAL YOUTHMAN SOUNDS INNA DIS AUCTION…..!!!!
wax condition: ex-, both sides look fine and play with stunning great sound and just very light crackling.....
label condition: the B-side shows only very light general wear, NO wol here, while Laurel's side has a small damage and some small writings, not too bad! (watch the scans).....
