Description
LAURIE JOHNSON
Title ~Synthesis
1970 UK COLUMBIA STEREO original LP
FLIPBACK SLEEVE.
Sought after 1970 original Lp with the cream of British jazzers including Hayes, Wheeler, Coe, Tracey and Harriott. A real fusion of London Philharmonic Orch with a Uk jazz ensemble~~lots of great soloing. The Lp is best described as orchestra/jazz soundscape and very much like the great film soundtracks of that era~~overall quite a unique LP.
Side 1 has some great soloing, while side 2 starts impressively with the jazz ensemble and then the LPO in full flight.
Great stuff!

OVERALL CONDITION
SLEEVE ~ VG+
(small nick (1cm) towards top centre~see scan and some bottom right flipback damage (but repairable)~see scan 4)
VINYL ~VG++
(there is some surface noise from the run in and for a few seconds on side 1~from then on fine and sounds great. side 2 is fine all the way through)
Overall I don't think you will be disappointed.
GRADING : I grade records firstly visually and sample aurally for overall sound quality. Should you feel I have misgraded please remember that I offer a full NO QUIBBLE refund or agreed price reduction if I am off the mark.
NEAR MINT (NM)~~a top copy~audio listening and visual grading has not revealed any imperfections. Lp is guaranteed to sound superb and shows very little sign of playing.
NEAR EXCELLENT (EX- or EX or EX+)~~careful visual inspection audio sampling has not revealed any major imperfections such as clicks or skips~~the LP should sound superb and it will be hard to find a better copy. Sleeve and any inserts/inners are in excellent shape. You will not be disappointed.
VG++ ~~you will not be disappointed with this LP~may have some light surface hairlines under bright light but will sound true without distortion or any major flaw. Sleeve will be in good order.
VG+~~ audio listening has revealed some limited surface noise (especially at run~in groove and towards start of each side and the run~out groove) or the odd crackle here and there. Visually the Lp may have light scuffs but nothing major though has obviously been played a few times. There should be no skips or repeats and play without distortion.
Sleeve might have light creases or minor ringwear or spine wear but nothing too serious.
Overall the Lp and sleeve are still quite acceptable and a better copy may never come along!
STILL PERFECTLY PLAYABLE AND STILL A VERY ACCEPTABLE SOUND!!
