Condition: All the acetates play with some noise to one degree or another. I only did a spot play and not all the way through for fear of causing damage. I do not want to put these on the VPI because I have no experience cleaing an acetate. Below are visual grades only.
side 1: 6: a couple scratches that will cause tick or noise.
side 2: 6: same as above
side 3 7: light scuffing and hairlines, nice gloss
side 4: 7: light scuffing and hairlines, nice gloss

Amazing piece on Jazz History from the legendary Clef label. Do not know if a set of Clef acetates have ever been up for auction! This set of acetates are from the estate of Lawrence Brown. These were his actual acetates for reference. These sessions (listed below) resulted in the Clef records release MGC 682 except for two tracks that never made the LP and are still unavailable on vinyl. I believe in the past 10 years or so they have shown up on a CD, but never before on a record!

Grading Scale:
10: Mint : Never used on open records.
9: Near Mint: Very clean, at most a couple light marks not affecting play, great gloss, a clean near new record.
8: VG++: Extremely nice, would be NM except for a few light hairline scratches or scuffs which do not affect play.
7: VG+: Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.
6: VG: Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.
5: VG-: A bit rough but will play ok, fills the collection.
4: G: Plays very rough, has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!
3-2-1: It only goes down from here.
