LDS-6159 is a great 3 record set of chamber pieces of Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Franck, and Schubert, skillfully played by the wonderful soloist of Jascha Heifetz-violin, Gregor Piatigorsky-cello, William Primrose-viola, and Leonard Pennario-piano. This set commemorates the Heifetz-Piatigorsky Concerts at the Pilgrimage Theater, Hollywood, California, August 1961. This was an outdoor facility in Los Angeles similar to the Hollywood Bowl. This set is one of the best chamber recordings done by RCA, and put together in a Soria box set that is striking in every way. The sound is rich, rounded, and sweet. The playing varies from fabulously good to fabulously great. Don't miss this Rare set, that brings many of the best soloists together in a stunning concert. The vinyl is Mint on all six sides, with Matrix #'s 1/S 1/S 5/S 3/S 1/S 1/S. The inner Soria book is in Mint condition. The outer Soria box is Near Mint . All in all a great and rare set.
