Description
LED ZEPPELIN - FOUR SYMBOLS - ATLANTIC
ORIGINAL VINYL LP. VERY HARD TO FIND ON THE PLUM ATLANTIC LABEL AS THESE WERE FIRST ISSUES.THIS IS A VERY EARLY PRESS AS INDICATED BY THE MATRIX.
IT IS ALSO A "PORKY PRIME CUT"
George "Porky" Peckham is a British record cutting engineer, widely recognised as among the most accomplished in the business. He has been responsible for producing the master discs from which countless vinyl records have been pressed over the last 40 years.
His master discs, and the records produced from them, are known as "Porky Prime Cuts" and often bear either the motto "A Porky Prime Cut" or a cryptic or humorous comment (signed "Porky"), etched into the run-out groove. Other inscriptions attributed to him include "Pecko" and "Pecko Duck".
CAT NO DELUXE 2401012 MATRIX A3 and B3
Sleeve- The classic and iconic gatefold. Usual age wear with storage marks and corner, edge and opening wear.Overall, strong and presentable for its age.
Inners-Comes with its original Four Symbols "Stairway to Heaven" lyric inner. This shows splits with general age wear and creases.(I have placed the record in a polylined inner to avoid further damage).
Labels- The labels are clean showing only minor feint spindle marks.
Dead Wax- Etched "Pecko Duck" and "Porky".
Vinyl- Still retains a full shine and deep gloss to both sides.Under light there is are odd hairlines and minor surface scratches but nice looking vinyl.Lovely and clean.
Playback- No skips and jumps.Lovely.There is some heavy crackle for about 30 seconds at the start of side one. However, the majority of the lp plays with a lovely clarity.very strong and clear.
This is a CLASSIC record. Not perfect but in very nice playable condition and not to be missed.
