Very rare original 1997 Classic Records 180g Audiophile 4 Lp Box Set,

16 years old now, and

STILL SEALED! 

Atlantic / Classic Records label: SD 83061-1

The original 180 gram vinyl formulation, back when they were consistently making great records,

before the switch to 200g vinyl and the well-known problems with warping

that Classic Records was unable to resolve.

I have no idea who is behind the white vinyl and yellow vinyl versions from Europe now showing up on eBay, usually identified by a large black dot

on the front upper right hand corner or a large white dot in Jimmy Page’s hair, but it wasn’t made by Classic Records.

 The original, authentic, genuine Classic Records issue will have "BG" written in the deadwax, the initials of mastering/cutting engineer Bernie Grundman. 

The official Classic Records 1st issue was released in 1997 on 180g black vinyl, and says “Manufactured and distributed under exclusive license by Classic Records, Inc.”

on the back of the box near the bottom (see photo above).  It was reissued on 200g vinyl in 2005, which is easily distinguished by the oval-shaped black & white sticker saying "200 Gram Classic

Records Quiex SV-P Super Vinyl Profile" on the front.

Condition of Box:

Mint and Sealed
This is example must please even the most particular collector, as good as can be in every way.  No bumped corners, no shelf wear, no discoloration.  The little dark mark under the "ss" in "Sessions" is on the shrink-wrap, NOT on the box itself.  The shrink-wrap is completely intact, all the way around.  As nice as if you went back in time to your favorite record store in 1997 and bought it new.  Please note that the box is bright white as it should be, clearly I'm not an expert photographer and I have difficulty getting the correct brightness of white in my photos.  I took a few photos with a white background too, one of the box front using a flash, but it didn't really help.  The first two pictures (front and back of box) are the best.  Rest assured that the box is the correct color white, guaranteed.

If you are looking for a top-condition example of this great LP set, an original 180g 1st pressing

made before Classic Records had problems with warped vinyl, you could not do better than this one.

And with double-box packaging, you will receive it in the same condition.

Double-Box Packaging:

This 4-LP box set is heavy, weighing 3.5 Lbs. by itself.  The LP box set will be double-boxed to protect from damage.  The inner box will be well padded inside.  The outer box will have padding surrounding the inner box on all sides, so that the inner box (containing the LP box set) cannot move.  Your record album will be packaged securely and insured. (please check my feedback & see example photos below)

There is NO REASON to take chances with substandard packaging methods or materials.

Payment, Shipping and Return Details:

Payment:  I accept Paypal, and ship to the confirmed Paypal address.  Payment required within 4 days, per eBay rules.  If payment is not made in 4 days, the sale will have to be canceled and the album will either be re-listed, or may be offered to the second highest bidder if it is a regular auction listing.

Shipping and Handling Time: Items normally ship the second day after payment (excluding weekends and holidays) with email notification and tracking info.

Return Policy: If the album was damaged during shipping, or a significant error has been made in the description of condition, please contact me within 3 days of receipt and have the album returned to me within 14 days, packaged as you received it in the original shipping boxes (unless damaged) for a refund of the purchase price and original shipping.  Return shipping is the Buyer’s responsibility.

These are the packaging materials and sequence:

2) Next the album, sealed inside a standard Record Mailer box, with cardboard stiffeners (the way most sellers ship albums) is placed on the layer of foam peanuts.

3) Every side of the Record Mailer box has approximately 1” of foam peanuts for padding protection.

4) Final layer of foam peanuts, filled to the top.

5) Large outer box sealed.
