Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have collected over a period of more than 45 years! Original UK pressing of Led Zeppelin's Debut album "Led Zeppelin" on the original 1st UK Kinney Atlantic labels. This is the first kinney label variation as a crossover from the plum/red labels (Note that this vinyl features both the original matrix for the earlier pressings and the Kinney matrix. This album was purchased from new and originally only ever played to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the cover and sleeve for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Features mega early Side 1. K40031-A1 & Side 2. 58817 B#4 & K40031-B Matrix Endings (Earliest Possible For this variation) Together with very thicker and heavy vinyl (only early Uk pressings) This album is complete with the original UK issue fully laminated MacNeil Press cover in at least excellent plus to very Near mint condition in my opinion! The audio is truly stunning through out! The audio is graded at Near as Mint in my opinion! Certainly the best sounding copy that I have heard astoundingly clear a vibrant very very rare like this! No loud nasty constant clicks or pops! So rich and vibrant throughout! Looks and sounds like it has only ever been played a handful of times!  This is complete with the original plain white poly lined record sleeve in superb condition. Led Zeppelin is the eponymous debut album by English rock band Led Zeppelin.




It was released on 12 January 1969 in the United States and on 31 March in the United Kingdom by Atlantic Records.



The album was recorded in September and October 1968 at Olympic Studios, London, shortly after the band's formation.




It contains a mix of original material worked out in the first rehearsals, and covers and rearrangements of contemporary blues and folk songs.





The sessions took place before the group had secured a recording contract and were paid for directly, and took 36 hours and less than £2,000 to complete.




The album showed the group's fusion of blues and rock, and their take on the emerging hard rock sound was immediately commercially successful in both the UK and US.




Although the album was not critically well-received when first released, critics have since come to view it in a more favourable light.
 



Page said that the album took only about 36 hours of studio time (over a span of a few weeks) to create (including mixing), adding that he knew this because of the amount charged on the studio bill. One of the primary reasons for the short recording time was that the material selected for the album had been well-rehearsed and pre-arranged by the band on the Scandanavian tour.





The band had not yet signed a deal and there was no record company money to waste on excessive studio time. Page and Led Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant paid for the sessions themselves. The reported total studio costs were £1,782.





The self-funding was important because it meant they could record exactly what they wanted without record company interference.





For the recordings, Page played a psychedelically painted Fender Telecaster, a gift from friend Jeff Beck after Page recommended him to join the Yardbirds in 1965, replacing Eric Clapton on lead guitar. Page played the Telecaster through a Supro amplifier, and used a Gibson J-200, for the album's acoustic tracks. For "Your Time Is Gonna Come" he used a Fender 10-string pedal steel guitar

The labels
The original 2nd label variation for this album Orange/Green 'Rough Textured' label variation are in awesome condition! (These look superb in my opinion)! Amaizingly I struggle to see any real spider marks/trails, even when angled to the light and of coarse little if (no) spindle ware the hole is perfectly round. This has only ever been played a handful of times only from new when I initially purchased it and one time to play grade for this listing. So rare for an album that is over 45 years old! Impossible to find like this! very very collectable! Early UK pressings very rare in this condition!

The vinyl
The vinyl is absolutely superb! On initial visual inspection this looks like new and still retains its sheen from new! (please note this vinyl has only ever been played a few times by me personally and I originally played this to record to tape! In the last 45 years this has been stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover to prevent ring ware and damage. This is how I have always stored my records, and of course I played this again to play grade at very loud volume on a top system! In fact even when I look at the playing surface angled to a strong light I find it hard notice any real surface marks or scratches. Any marks that could possible be seen when angled in strong light would be light whyspy surface sleeve removal type only.

The Audio Quality
I have played this through track for track prior to listing at very very loud volume on a top system! WOW!, the moment the needle hits the playing surface it is obvious this vinyl has barely ever been played at all! The audio quality is as you would expect when purchased new, superbe, TOP, TOP, TOP! cristal clear and extremely vibrant through out in fact this plays truly superb.This is without a dought one of the best copies that I have ever heard of this variation! Just listen to the bass lines very vibrant and real clarity very nice to hear like this! This played through superb unbelievable audio seperation, that I haven't heard like this before and stunning bassey feel throughout! One of the most vibrant sounding audio copies that I have heard and early pressing makes all the difference! Even in between tracks this was lovely and quiet. This vinyl has been stored separately from the cover in a poly sleeve for over 45 years! This is the way I always have stores my records! The vibrancy of the audio on this pressing in my opinion is as good as it gets for a very early 1st issue Kinney variation! Even in between tracks this is very quiet! I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl by this awesome rock band ''Led Zeppelin'' and so hard to find tlike this! Please check my completed listings of records that I have sold of this quality and you will see that i normally get it right! I would grade the audio near as mint throughout!

Please note! That i always make this disclaimer! Allowances must be made for these mid seventies pressings. Please allow for the odd isolated static/ /tick that may be heard in quiet places or in between tracks, certainly not consistent throughout the audio. This is a genuine 45 year old vinyl that would have originally been played on a 45 year old system! Genuinly only ever played a handful of times ever!

Points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle\ticks! A constant clean before each play is recommended ! This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality!

The Record Sleeve
This is the original plain white paper record sleeve, clean and straight. No splits or tears, light creasing fading yellowing with age only.

The Cover
The original 1st issue fully laminated MacNeil Press cover. Note These covers very difficult to keep in good condition and being flimsy by nature very prone to creasing. Note: This is probably one of the best looking covers that I have seen! There are (no) edge splits or tears.   The spine is generally lovely and square with very slight creasing only. A truly superbe example rarely seen like this.! No nasty rubbing or ring wear, in fact amazingly no nasty creases worth to mention. The rear is exceptionally clean Any imperfections/rubbing edge creases, are not really noticed unless really looked for in my opinion. Must be at least Excellent plus to near mint in my opinion rarely ever seen like this after 45 years old!
