Description

LED ZEPPELIN I George Piros mastering MONARCH Pressing. This is the 1974 repressing mastered by George Piros. Piros' mastering on this album is like night and day compared to the UK or the 1st U.S. mastering, fuller bass, clearer vovals, more powerful and fuller. Akin to the infamous Robert Ludwig mastering of Led Zeppelin II, these are getting harder to come by because of their solid reputation for being excellent sounding pressings.
I did a side by side comaprison with this record and a ist pressing U.K. edition. This made the UK version sound like there was no bass whatsoever, and the cymbals sounded like mush on the UK as well. This one was mastered to rock hard.
VINYL in VG+ condition, a few light hairlines that produce some crackle here and there, but overall a nice presentation and great sound. This appears to be the 1974 repressing because there is the WB Warner Brothers logo on the labels, and a 75 Rockefeller address listed. Monarch pressing plant in LA California as indicated by the "MO" on the labels. Monarch pressings have a great reputation for solid sound form their pressing plant, I have owned many MO pressings and each seems to have something extra special compared to the Specialty, Presswell, and Terre Haute pressings.

COVER in VG with rubbing/ring wear, a 1" split in the middle of the bottom seam, and a 1" split at the opening of the bottom seam. The rest of the bottom is intact with chipping. The spine is fully readable and solid, some chipping starting at either end. The top seam is solid with some chipping starting. Corner bumps on each.
INNER SLEEVE in VG+ This is the period-correct sleeve for this edition.
