Description
Up for auction is an original pressing of Led Zeppelin II, SD 8236. This is the legendary pressing mastered by Robert Ludwig (R.L.) at Sterling Sound Studios (SS). It features the R.L. on both sides. The Info in the dead wax, (side one) ST-A-691671-A P LW W RL. (side two) ST-A-691672-A P LW AT RL ss W. The info at the bottom of the record labels are (side one) is (ST-A-691671 PR), (side two) is (ST-A-691672 PR) The PR at the end of the code indicates it was pressed at the Presswell record plant in Ancora, NJ. The PR pressings have the extremely narrow dead wax on side two. This is a really nice copy. The record itself is in VG+ condition close to a VG - but not quite. Its plays great with a little surface noise. NO skips, NO jumps. It has a some superficial marks/paper scuffs that do not affect the playability. The label on side one has someones stamp on it. (See Pics) The cover is VG or better. Great shape for an original zepp II cover. (See Pics) Its got some shelf wear along the edges but the edges are solid. The spine shows wear but is very solid. Has some corner/edge wear on spine. The original Atlantic inner paper sleeve is included is intact but has short tears on a couple seams and a couple wrinkles.
Record will be shipped outside of the cover in a new plastic inner sleeve. Then cover and record will be placed in a plastic outer sleeve and mailed in a record mailer with cardboard pads/inserts to further protect the record. Record mailer is high quality. consists of 200lb test cardboard with a 32lb edge crush rating. I have been collecting records for years and totally understand how to safely ship records.
