Livin' Lovin' Wreck / Lemon Song Credits. Matrix No.s A2/B2.
Light Brown Cover with Greenish tint.
This is an original FIRST pressing of Zeppelin's classic 2nd album from my own collection, never been sold on. As Led Zeppelin fans will know the very first copies of this album had the song credit on Side 2 " LIVIN' LOVIN' WRECK (SHE'S A WOMAN) as oppose to the later credit on subsequent pressings " Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just A Woman), this miscredit was changed shortly after release so only the very first batch had the original labels.
Also importantly on Side 1 of this album Track 3, "THE LEMON SONG" is credited to Page/Bonham/Plant/Jones whereas on later pressings it is credited to Burnett and on later pressings listed as "Killing Floor" due to copyright reasons. It is noted too that all publishing rights were credited to "Copyright Control" on early pressings and Warner Bros. and Jewel Music for "The Lemon Song" on later issues making this one of the most sought after, most essential rock collectables!
COVER: The light brown cover ( later pressings were more of a chocolate brown affair) is in Excellent Condition (using Record Collector Condition Grading Guide), very slight wear on the top and bottom edges, the spine is pretty straight, perfectly readable, very clean, the inside is pristine. On the very top left of the front cover there are two small initials B.F. which belong to my brother! in ball-point pen, probably could be removed but so unobtrusive they aren't worth the bother. These unlaminated covers for this album are notoriously difficult to find in even good condition due to easy scuffing and the large light area of the Zeppelin design. The cover on the inside where the credits are has a greenish tint as oppose to the later plain grey.
On the inside under the Atlantic logo and number 588 198 there is the script " Under licence from Atlantic Recording Corprn. USA. Manufactured by POLYDOR RECORDS LTD. Printed and made by E.J.Day & Co. London W11. " and under that it says " UPTIGHTAN,OUTASIGHT is the official Atlantic Appreciation Society at 17-19 Stratford Place W1". All of this is omitted and blanked out on the later pressings of this album.
THE RECORD: On a visual inspection in strong light the record has a nice sheen, some light marks but no nasty scratches that affect play. There is some crackling in quiet passages but not noticable when Bonzo kicks in! I played it for audio grading and didn't notice anything that took away my enjoyment, it's a powerful record! Grade VG (using R.C.C.G.G), played but never abused!
LABELS; Very nice labels on this, original Orange and Plum Atlantic made in Gt. Britain with the all important variations and details. No markings or staining at all. Matrix No's 588 198 A2/B2
Original poly-lined generic inner sleeve.
The pictures don't really show the brightness of the labels, the orange and plum really stand out and they are a lot crisper in reality!

I won't go on about the music contained as anyone interested in this record will know all about that and the obvious attraction of a nugget like this is that it is an original first pressing that will not come along in this condition very often and is amongst the top Zep collectables.
NUTS & BOLTS: I am a private collector living in Ibiza, I haven't bought or sold much on e.bay for a while due to work commitments but I'll be listing a few nice items now and then. I'm loathe to sell some of my favourites but needs must!! I don't aim to make anything from postage but it is a tad more expensive from Spain to UK.
