Description

Led Zeppelin - Massively Rare UK 1969 Nr Mint 1st Pressing Led Zeppelin II (2)!!! As Well As Being Nr Mint, This is The Earliest Possible 1st Press with The Mega Rare 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' Mis-credit!!!! Also With 'Lemon Song'  Mis-credit and the Original Earliest Possible 1st Press 'Light Brown' E. J. Day Gatefold Sleeve which is in Ex+ Condition and the Best Example I Have Ever Seen!!! Complete w/ Orange/Plum Centre Labels, and Original Poly Lined 'Made In England' Inner Sleeve - All in Stunning Condition Throughout!!!

Here is another gem from my own mostly Nr Mint personal collection (which I am selling off gradually to lessen the pain...) I have been collecting very rare vinyl for a long time now. As a collector, I have been very critical about the condition of the records I have chosen to buy over the years, and only selected the most pristine 1st pressings I have found.  My collection is therefore filled with not only the rarest UK 1st pressings, but also records of the highest grade quality condition, some of the best you will probably ever come across. Sadly, most now have to find new homes. As I said, I am very strict with my grading, so when I describe a record as Nr Mint - you can rest assured that it will be a true Nr Mint record (I never grade any records as Mint because Mint does not exist unless you own a time machine and go back and bag a job in a 1960's record pressing plant!)

You are bidding on a Superb ORIGINAL UK 1970 UK 1st Pressing of this all time classic LP by Led Zeppelin-that's right it is the ultimate UK 1st Pressing of their Classic 2nd album!!! And what's more - it is in impossible Near Mint / Ex+ condition throughout!!! In my opinion this record is as good as you will ever see, and is as rare as the Turquoise sleeve 1st pressing of Led Zep 1. This just never shows up (and NEVER in MInt-/Ex+++ condition!!!!) Sure finding an early press with the 'Lemon Song'  credit is not too difficult, but finding the TRUE 1st press with the 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' mis-credit is near impossible today!!! The cool 1960's thick and chunky vinyl is in visually and aurally pristine condition and shines with a 'just pressed' look and feel, and the 1st press light brown sleeve is simple amazing!!!  It really is a superb 1st press of this amazing LP!!! Due to the price this will fetch, I will describe it as meticulously as possible, so you know exactly what you are getting for your money. Please check our other auctions as we have some more incredibly rare 1st pressings currently listed and coming soon!!!

This record comes from part of a  MASSIVE Nr MINT Led Zeppelin 1st Press collection I purchased some years ago. I recently sold the Led Zeppelin 1 from this collection for well over £1,000 UK GBP (check my feedback), and I expect this rare record to attract a lot of attention also, so get your bids in early and please do not wait until the last seconds, as UK eBay is very glitchy on Saturday and Sunday evenings due to the sheer amount of traffic at these peak times.  All records in this collection are very rare today and all will be listed over the coming months. Most have never been played or just played once to record. All have been professionally archived since purchase. To see more from this collection click here and watch my upcoming auctions

1st Press Livin Lovin Wreck Miscredit? Yes

Lemon Song Miscredit? Yes

1st Press Light Brown E. J. Day Sleeve? Yes

This is the real deal!!!

This vinyl and sleeve are in immaculate pristine condition - you will not find a better plum/red 'Wreck' mis-pressing 1st pressing than this!!! The Classic Plum/Red 1st Pressing centre labels are in stunning MINT- condition with NO Tears, NO Peeling, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! There is the faintest trace of a spindle line - the only evidence that this record has ever seen a turn-table!!!  The gramophone rims containing the all important matrix's are also mint!!! I don't know where to start with this vinyl!!! It has NO Scratches, NO scuffing, NO marks, NO Groove Wear, NO warping, NO blemishes - there are possibly one or two paper-lines simply caused by removing the record from its inner sleeve that can only be seen when angling the record toward strong light - you know the type I mean.  It plays absolutely beautifully from start to finish, with just some very light background static on the run-ins - a soon as Jimmy Page begins riffing the intro to Whole Lotta Love you'll realise why you paid so much money for this record; It sounds simply fantastic on my Mitchell turntable! There is just some background  static between the tracks and on the quieter passages. It has NO jumps, NO skips and NO hissing!!! - This very rare vinyl is in straight Nr Mint condition, as simple as that!!! This record is Blemish-free and looks like it came off the master press yesterday!!! It has all the deep shine a newly pressed record!!! I am very pleased to state that this is a record that also plays as good as it looks!!!  The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!).  The classic 1st Press Light Brown 'E.J Day Gatefold Sleeve is in simply stunning Condition!!!! It is by far the very best I have EVER come across. Only the very first few presses of this sleeve had the noticeably lighter brown hue as well as the 'Lemon Song' mis-credit. They are easily as rare as the 'Wreck' mis-credit discs they were made to house. In fact, whenever I see the lighter brown sleeve, I usually know that if there has been no switching of discs and sleeves (unfortunately this is fairly common among many record dealers), it will be housing a 'Wreck' disc! Unfortunately, as most of these earliest light brown sleeves are trashed, a lot of sellers switch them with later, darker, sleeves in better condition to improve the overall quality of their 'wreck' pressings, but ultimately, leaving the buyer with a mismatched copy of this great album. I have seen this by some of the supposedly upstanding eBay dealers and find it really disturbing that they should want to do this.  This sleeve should be thought of much as the Pink Floyd 'Dark Side Of The Moon' 1st press blue hue, sleeve (one of which I am also currently listing - see here ), i.e. full of subtle differences which indicate it belongs only with the 1st pressings of this record.  Anyway, on to the sleeve description, due to having non lamination, these sleeves suffered severe wear and always turn up worn out and really nasty looking. This one however is NOT and is simply STUNNING, it is by far one of the best light brown 1st press sleeves I have ever come across, (it is much better than most of the later sleeves!!!) It retains all of its Mint factory satin sheen!!! It has NO writing scribbles or blemishes of any kind!!! The spine is Mint with Mint legible spine text. It has NO seam wear at all!!! Impossible for this mega rare unlaminated sleeve!!! The opening edges are razor sharp with no feathering.  I really cannot find fault with this sleeve at all save for possibly the lightest hint of corner rubs, but I am really being fussy here!!! If not for this it would grade straight Nr Mint - in fact most sellers would easily grade this sleeve Nr Mint without the slightest hesitation - it is that good!!! This mega rare 1st press sleeve grades as EX+!!!!! It's as simple as that, it retains ALL of its factory pressed matt finish!!!!  There are NO Tears, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It is completely blemish free!!! It is simply beautiful and the best example of this rare sleeve I have ever seen!!!!  What's more, it comes with its original 'Made In England' and 'Patents' poly-lined inner sleeve, which is also in Stunning condition!!!!  Nice & crisp with No discolouration, NO blemishes, No tears, an No separating of the inner poly lining!!! I have tried to show you the record from all angles using extra large images. If you are not sure of anything just email me - I will be happy to help. Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a UK 1st press of this LP in this kind of condition is impossible today; Good Luck!

This is seen by many as one of the best rock records ever made  by a UK band!!! It is most people's favourite Led Zeppelin LP and  to find UK 'Wreck' 1st press copies in such stunning condition today is impossible!!! If you have never heard it, you will not find another copy that plays more pristinely than this- it will blow you away!!! If you are a collector/investor, the price of this record will just rise and rise. An absolutely essential (and very rare) record to own in this complete and beautiful condition!!! Don't miss this one!!!

It has recently been pointed out to me that some eBay sellers have been using my images without permission. If you are thinking of lifting a picture or two from my pages - don't. You will be reported and your auction will be removed by eBay. It's not that I mind, in fact its kinda flattering, my real problem is that whoever does this is not showing a true image of the actual record they are selling. The condition of old 1960's & 70's records varies greatly, no two are in exactly the same condition when they are this age. All my pictures are very specific to the actual records I sell and it is wholly misleading to to show these images with reference to a different record. Thanks.

I will be selling my entire UK 1st Press collection of 1960/70's Psych/Prog./Beat/Rock & Folk over the coming months, most of these records are in Mint- condition, many having 3 figure book prices. All will be listed here on eBay UK, most with a £2.99 start and No Reserve - bookmark my pages. Like the vast majority of my collection, this record has been archived upright in a thick outer PVC sleeve in a smoke & damp free environment since purchase!

All my records have No reserve, a Low Start and No Surcharges!

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
