"Lemon Song" Label Credits! (Only Early Press)
Another from my personal collection, collected over a period of more than 45 years or more! I own most if not all of the UK variations of this album that I know of in existance. Led Zeppelin II is probably one of the best produced albums for vinyl in my personal opinion! This album on offer is the original second issue featuring the "Lemon Song credit" Later press was changed to "Killing Floor" Credit, and the original Light Brown E.Day &co printed gatefold with the green/blue tinted inside of the gatefold (Later Press have a darker brown cover) Please Note: This album is listed for its rarety rather than for its condition. There is general wear and tear/rubbing wear with age and there are surface marks and scratches noted on the vinyl which do cause some interferance during the play) Importantly, the audio is truly stunning throughout cristal clear and very vibrant only found like this on these original pressings and this plays through without any distortion and no skips or jumps. There is some isolated ticks and pops to mention but this is still very playable and very enjoyable in my personal opinion. I would grade the audio at least excellent to excellent plus for the most part. This features the poly lined sleeve and original 1st UK light brown E.Day Gatefold. The cover is generally straigh with general rubbing wear with age but there are no splits or tears. This cover is graded at excellent in my opinion!

Led Zeppelin II is the second album released by English rock band Led Zeppelin in 1969. Here they further developed ideas established on their debut album, creating a work which became even more widely acclaimed and arguably more influential!
The album was recorded during a hectic and much-traveled period of the band's career from January through August 1969, when they completed four European and three American concert tours. Each song was separately recorded, mixed and produced at various studios in the UK and the U.S. The finished tracks reflect the raw, evolving sound of the band and their innovations as live performers.
It has been suggested that Led Zeppelin II largely writes the blueprint for 1970s hard rock.[Blues-derived songs like "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker", "The Lemon Song" and "Bring It on Home" are now standards of the genre, where the guitar-based riff (rather than vocal chorus or verses) defines the song and provides the key hook. Such arrangements and emphases were at the time atypical in popular music. As such, the album is generally considered to be very influential on the development of rock music, being an early forerunner of heavy metal, and inspiring a host of other rock bands including Van Halen and Guns N' Roses!
Led Zeppelin II also experimented with other musical styles and approaches, as on the alternately soft-and-loud "What Is and What Should Never Be" and "Ramble On" (which featured Page's acoustic guitar), or the pop-influenced ballad "Thank You".
With its mysterious atmospherics, "Ramble On" helped develop hard rock's association with fantasy themes, which had partly derived from the psychedelic rock of two to three years before, but also from lyricist Robert Plants personal interest in the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien.
This direction would later culminate on Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album (and countless subsequent groups would later carry the influence to further extremes). Conversely, the instrumental "Moby Dick" features an extended drum solo by John Bonham, which would later be extended to a half-hour or more in live Led Zeppelin concert performances.
Jimmy Page's contribution to this album was significant, as his electric guitar solo on the song "Heartbreaker" was emulated by many younger rock guitarists, and exemplifies the group's intense musical attack. Page's innovative recording and drum miking effects on tracks such as "Ramble On" and "Whole Lotta Love" also demonstrated his considerable skill, resourcefulness and originality as a producer. This was the first Led Zeppelin album to feature Page playing a 1959 Gibson Les Paul, the guitar he helped make famous

The Vinyl This is the heavier and thick type of vinyl only found on early pressings later are much more flimsier and less robust! Also from my experience the thicker original vinyls produce the best audio quality!
On initial inspection the vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! The vinyl retains its original glossy sheen from new. On intitial inspection of the playing surface there are surface marks/scratches/scuffs noted. Importantly there are (NO) audio sounding needle scratches or marksthat would cause any nasty loud constant clicks or pops! Some however do cause isolated ticks or pops but nothing too bad in my opinion. This plays through cristal clear and vibrant throughout with (no) signs of grooveware or that this has been overplayed WHAT SO EVER!Note, Interferance is noted but nothing consistant throughout the audio play and I rate the audio at least excellents in my opinion!
The Audio Quality
This vinyl was played three times at very very loud volume on a top system! I can not emphisise enougth that the audio quality and the seperation is truly awesome, from my experiance having collected so many copies and variations over the years, that these very early originals produce the best audio quality available in any other format available! (Please note as above mentioned, There is some interferance noted Static type ticks heard and isolated pops/scuff noise.) Please note! This would benefit from a constant clean before each play which would reduce any static crackle and or isolated static tics that may be heard! I would class myself as highly critical! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have solds of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! I would rate this audio top on all frequencies! Graded at least excellent plius to near mint for the most part. very vibrant\awesome!
Points to note! I have played this vinyl at very loud volume using a top system! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my very honest opinion on the audio quality as I heard it! Please allow for the odd isolated static type tics/pops/scuff noise that may be heard in some quieter places only but (not) consistant throughout the audio! Please remember this is a genuine 46 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 46 year old system! One of the best sounding copies thast I have heard of this variation!
The labels
These labels are superbe the original plum\red Atlantic labels (only found on early press) Features ''The Lemon Song'' credit instead of the "Later pressings which feature "The Killing Floor". Spidering can be seen angled in light. This has obviously been played but not over played in my opinion. ''MADE IN GT BRITAIN'' is featured (UK press)
The Record Sleeve
This is plain white poly lined sleeve with blue text no edge splits or tares just light creasing/staining/fading with age only. This is the original.
The Cover
This is the original Ist press unlaminated "Light Brown" gatefold cover, printed by E.DAY & CO (ENGLAND) !(This is lighter in colour than later press which are darker brown., very rare to find)! These are very (very) hard to find in good condition and normaly get very tatty with age! There is (no) splits or tares. There is general wear and tear with age in the form of rubbing wear at the edges and at the spine edges Light edge creases to mention.. Some ring wear/rubbing is also noted. Corner rubbing is also worth to mention. writing on the spine can be read clearly (see photos) some scuffing\rubbing at the spine. This is generally nice and straight! At the rear there is light rubbing wear. The inside of the gatefold features blue green (only 1st press covers) Still decent condition for 46 years old!
Graded at excellent in my opinion!
