“Led Zeppelin II”
LED ZEPPELIN
Incredibly rare pre-release promotional white label Mono CSG PROCESSed copy of Led Zeppelin II. Atlantic Records provided these Monaural CSG PROCESSed pressing to the radio stations that had been a dominant base for Atlantic Records over the course of the company’s lifetime. Some of the still-loyal radio stations were a declining market and didn’t have a necessary equipment to play Stereo signal. Therefore, these radio stations received specific Mono mixes from the producers of the sessions that were made using the CSG (Compatible Stereo Generator) process, which allowed to create stereophonic vinyl LP records that when played on the Monaural equipment would allow the 2 channel stereo mix to automatically fold-down properly to a single Monaural channel. This unique Monaural CSG PROCESSed Promotion copy was the first ever pre-release pressing and was delivered to the radio stations 3-4 months before the release of Led Zeppelin II, which was the summer of 1969. Atlantic Records took out a full page advertisement in the April 6th, 1968 issue of Billboard Magazine to promote its adoption of the technique, calling it “CSG STEREO.” Original thick cardboard cover with the Atlantic Records large "A" with fan logo and four digit SD 8236 catalog number at the bottom left corner of the front cover and an original neon orange “PROMOTIONAL D/J COPY MONAURAL CSG PROCESS NOT FOR SALE” round sticker above it. The back cover has an original large "This Album Contains..." song title hype sticker at the bottom right corner. Original Atlantic Records Sample Copy Not For Sale White Label with black print, contains the “8236” catalog number without the “SD” suffix and “1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.” address along the bottom rim. The full matrix numbers are as follows SIDE 1: A-13135-A LW W AT SIDE 2: A-13136-A LW W AT. Thick heavy weight glossy vinyl contains some light surface marks and scuffs from the inner sleeve, maintaining its fresh lacquer. The vinyl is in great shape overall, considering that usually these rare white label copies are found with numerous marks and scratches due to the fact that they were played very often at the radio stations. The cover is very clean, containing some very light occasional corner wear and has a rigid spine with a fully readable text. This copy comes with a an original 1st pressing Atlantic Records printed color paper inner sleeve with adverts for 54 Atlantic Records releases.

POLICY:
Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description. I'll use my right to block a buyer, who doesn't correspond to my idea of politeness, culture and respect toward each other. If you want to participate in my auction, please be honest and positive, and I'll be mutual with you. I'll remove the bids of a buyer with zero rating, unless he contacts me prior to placing a bid. Unfortunately, I don't ship to Germany or Russia. I apologize to the buyers from these countries in advance.
