Led Zeppelin : Led Zeppelin III A5 / B5 Celebration error 1970
This very early red / plum pressing is near perfect! The clarity, depth and power of the audio is stunning and the only intrusion is one dull light click on 'Since I've Been Loving You'. I've sold a number of this classic album down the years and this is easily one of the finest examples I have ever listened to. I mean S1 is superb but S2 is just incredible! The sonic quality across both sides is 'high end' and with a visually stunning vinyl it would be difficult to find a better version.
The iconic gatefold is in fantastic condition with very little wear and the original inner sleeve in great shape also.
This version still has the first press matrix but has no Peter Grant credit on the labels. This second pressing has the 'Celebration' error on the S1 label i.e. 'Day' has been omitted.

Visual description
The vinyl is in superb condition and retains a lovely glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and there is nothing that stands out. The run out grooves are unmarked and the iconic red / plum Atlantic labels have barely any spindle wear and still have their deep colour. A stunning example!
Play grading
The run in on S1 is as silent as it could be and the classic 'Immigrant Song' then plays with stunning quality from the word go. You can easily hear the countdown intro and the clarity and power throughout is so impressive. No ticks, clicks, pops or static - a dynamic Mint start to the album.
The 'spoken' / acoustic intro on 'Friends' plays perfectly with not even a single dust tick and Plant's opening vocal section is on the same level. It continues to play with impeccable quality - there is no background at all and it basically plays as clearly as it would have done when first pressed, I cannot pay it any higher compliment! The 'busy' ending is a case in point - superb audio with no distortion etc. Mint all the way.
The Moog segue into 'Celebration Day' plays with incredible clarity and with Page's introduction the audio is just as strong. The opening vocal is flawless and as Bonham comes in that's when the track really takes off! Great power and depth and it continues in the same precise way. One of more powerful tracks on the album the sonic quality has not deteriorated at all and it plays loud and true through every section with no interference. Even the fade out plays to perfection. Mint
The intro on 'Since I've Been Loving You' is STUNNING! The clarity and definition is comparable to an un-played record and Plant's first vocal is equal to that. Ok I heard one mega quiet static but honestly it's barely audible! Plant's vocal is on the higher register during so much of this classic and yet there is no static distortion on the top end, it sounds superb! Page's mid solo is so strong and dynamic and the only intrusion is one very light click. The relatively quiet section that follows plays with outstanding clarity and the remainder has no interference either. The high octane end section is stunning and overall Near Mint is deserved.
'Out On The Tiles' so often plays with distortion but this is easily one of the cleanest versions I have heard in a long time. The intro / opening vocal play with great quality and the first chorus has only the bare minimum of inner groove distortion. It continues to play with a very clean quality and you can turn it up to max without having to turn it down immediately! The instrumental end section is so strong and deep and there is no background on the fade out. I will say Near Mint but arguably that is a little harsh as like I say there is always some distortion but it really is kept to a minimum here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The acoustic intro / opening vocal on 'Gallows Pole' play with exceptional clarity and as volume increases the playback is faultless. Bonham's introduction just adds to that and from then on it plays unrivalled quality. It's a 'busy' track and yet nothing is lost musically and there is none of the tinny distortion that you so often find. Another perfect fade out and another Mint track.
The brief acoustic intro on 'Tangerine' and the few seconds of silence have no background and opening vocal is equal to that. It continues to play with such quality and again the clarity and depth really stand out. I do not want to repeat myself but is just could not play any better. So many quiet 'moments', the definitive version you could say. Mint
'That's The Way' also plays with sublime quality through every vocal and instrumental section. There is no intrusion on the audio and Mint is again deserved. Not bad for an acoustic number of approaching 55 years!
'Bron-Y-Aur' keeps up the standard and plays with unbelievable audio with no sign of any interference. The clarity and depth is off the scale and I have no hesitation in grading it as Mint
'Hat's Off To (Roy) Harper' is 'as new' there is no other way to describe it. The clarity, depth and warm of the audio is out of this world and shows (again) just how infrequently this album has been played. A STUNNING S2 in so many ways - I have graded every track as Mint there is not even a solitary Mint minus!
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve
The laminated cover is in great condition with hardly any shelf wear and as stated the 'wheel' still rotates perfectly. The edges are so clean with only very minimal rubbing and the top edges are of course 'open' so as to allow the wheel to move. The wide spine is 'as new' without any wear, not even on the corners, and the right hand corners have hardly any wear also. The opening edge has only the bare minimum of 'crimping' at the top and bottom and the front cover is stunning without any marking or creasing. The back cover is super clean with very little discolouration around the edges and for once has no laminate creasing. The inside of the gatefold is superb with only the left panel having a little fading / discolouration, hardly worth a mention really. The 'right hand' side of the spine does seem to have been taped but it is hardly noticeable. A stunning example overall.
The original Plastic Bags inner (dated 1070) has no side splits or tears and very little marking. It has 395 written in a top corner on each side and only a little creasing.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Many thanks.
All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
