This is a very rare and early 1970 first press with the very rare "Executive producer:Peter Grant" label credit,also the catalogue number changed on later copies to 2401-002.very rare in this condition
Cover
The original uk (not a german issue like some are)laminated working rotating wheel Gatefold cover made by E J Day is graded as Excellent++/Excellent.There is no writing,tears or stickers.Here is a description of all parts of this cover
FRONT: The front which has the working wheel is very clean..no laminate damage just a few tiny spine creases which are hardly noticeable.Corner tips are nice
BACK: same as front..again very clean with no laminate damage,just a tiny bit of wear
INSIDE GATEFOLD : very clean again,original issue with all the text on the right hand side,no laminate damage annd all the colours are vivid and clear
SPINE:This is very nice..very solid with no wear or splits and all the text is readable
Labels
The original red/maroon first press atlantic labels are in Mint(-) condition with no damage..superb!!
Record
The record which is made out of thick quality wax is unwarped,in daylight it looks near mint but under very strong light you can see some very faint hairlines..no fingernail scratches,so i will say that this beautiful album is in Excellent+ condition..strongly graded with full gloss and shine
Let me tell you how good this record sounds..the good points,side 2 which has some fantastic acoustic songs play superb!!! with no crackles or pops and there is no sound distortion!!..the music is crystal clear and the tracks play near mint!!..even on the start of "Gallows pole" and "Tangerine" where generally because of the low key intros (not loud!!) they usually on most copies play with bad crackle,clicks or even pops!! but on this copy they both start off very quietly.Side 1 is slightly different..most of the tracks again play near mint with superb zeppelin music but there is a skip at the start of the vocals on "since i`ve been loving you".apart from this THE ALBUM PLAYS SUPERB!! AND THE ACOUSTIC SONGS ARE AMAZING!!
SO ALTOGETHER A VERY NICE EARLY AND RARE FIRST PRESS!!
