Description

Led Zeppelin’s fourth (and some would say best) album, catalogue No. 2401012 on the Atlantic Red/Plum label. An excellent example of this original 1971 UK FIRST PRESSING. This has the famous ‘Pecko Duck’ and ‘Porky’ etchings in the run off grooves on each side. As with all these early Zeppelin pressings the power they got into those grooves is astonishing ! This recording has tremendous power and surges out of the speakers and (very pleasantly) kicks you in the aural senses !! Bonzo’s drums are always a revelation and here it feels like you’re right there with him when He’s pounding out ‘Four Sticks’ and ‘When The Levee Breaks’. The detail and clarity of the quieter passages in ‘Stairway’ and ‘The Battle Of Evermore’ are wonderful. The vinyl has a glossy sheen, only a few scuffs and very little surface noise, apparent in only some quieter passages. I cannot remember ANY CLICKS OR POPS throughout the whole record and I would grade the vinyl as EX. The sleeve is in great condition also. There is only a little wear apparent on the edges and the colours are still strong. It does have a four letter name written on the rear top left corner. This I would grade as EX- due to the writing. The soft card inner sleeve is also in fine order  AND HAS NOT SPLIT ! Amost unheard of for this record ! Lastly, the labels. Again the colours are as vibrant as they were in 71’. A great example of an awesome record by an awesome band captured at the height of their powers !!
