Matrix : 2401012 A3/B4 Corrected XX A1 Matrix Issue : RAREST EARLY LABEL DESIGN
This is a genuine original and early UK press of Led Zeppelin IV. There are a number of copies of Led Zeppelin IV sold with the A3/B3 matrix that claim to be 1st presses, this is nearly always misleading and untrue. The very earliest 1st press did indeed have the A3/B3 matrix but it had a completely different label design and only a small number have come up for sale. The true original labels have no Led Zeppelin at the top at all, just the four symbols, the band name was printed in smaller text at the bottom of the label. This record is the following and still extremely rare press with the A3/B4 matrix. This press still contains the earliest rarest label design. Again only a small number of these come up for sale. It was only after these errors that the whole label was redesigned to the common Led Zeppelin at the top and given the A3/B3 matrix. This record still has all of the rare original label error stickers on both sides of the label, it has the original dark brown printed inner sleeve and the genuine earliest light card gatefold sleeve.
The record in MINT condition. The vinyl has a no marks on either sides. It plays through very well, with little to no background noise. The rare label has sharp black text, the colours are very bright and and there is no spindle wear.
The 1st press only flipback dark brown printed inner sleeve is in Very Good condition.
The matt earliest light gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition. The picture is still superb and the colours are still incredibly warm and bright. The edges are exceptionally solid, there is just a little corner wear. The inside is superb, the black is solid and the picture is perfect.
