Description
LED ZEPPELIN IV FOUR SYMBOLS - Atlantic 2401012
Early Press 1971 UK original LP
EARLIEST POSSIBLE A3 / B3 Matrix stamps
As far as I am aware A3 / B3 matrix stamps are only usually seen on the copies with 'Led Zeppelin' written at the bottom of the label - but this copy has the alternate label design, with Led Zeppelin written at the top, but with the matrix stamps from the very first press, which makes it an ultra rare copy, or possibly a previously unknown variation.
With Pecko & Duck credits on A side matrix and Porky credit on B side matrix
I played the disc to test and it definitely has that first press sound quality factor, hearing the opening bars of Black Dog ringing out of this LP, played loud on a decent stereo is an electrifying experience, the sound is so vibrant and clear.
The disc is in EXCELLENT condition, it has a very few hairline / superficial marks you can see when held up to a light, these do not affect play, the disc plays through all the way with no jumps.
Sound quality is superb, with only a bit of very occasional crackle to be heard in the quietest passages or between tracks.
The original, non laminated gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT minus condition, as you would expect, being non laminated it has some slight wear to the edges and corners. It has the correct stereo sticker on the back of the sleeve, its a very nice copy with no other defects apart from the slight wear to edges as mentioned.
Comes with the original inner sleeve which is in nice clean condition but does have some edge splits.
Please see the super-sized pictures of the disc and sleeve
