Detailed Gradings: -
Outer Sleeve: VG
The outer sleeve is in VG condition. It shows general signs of wear, which is predominantly in the form of moderate to higher levels of wear to the edges and spine, i.e. they’ve been rubbed quite a bit , however they remain intact and unsplit. The front and back covers are generally free from any significant problems with slight wear but when properly housed in a record sleeve it looks very presentable indeed and hasn’t got any staining, writing or other significant marks on it, so it’s graded VG accordingly.
Vinyl: (Visual) Side: 1 EX Side 2: EX+
This is an exceptionally clean copy of this record. There are a couple more hairlines on side 1 than side 2, hence the distinction I’ve drawn in my grading, but both have very minimal obvious hairlines and the vinyl retains it’s deep black gloss shine. Seldom do you see this record in such good condition.
Vinyl: Audio (EX-)
The record plays well without any major problems, such as excessively loud noises or skipping etc. Overall, it displays a small but consistent amount of low-level noise through much of the record which can mainly be only heard in the quieter passages. This isn’t intrusive, but it is there nonetheless and if you are looking for a totally silent copy with no background noise then this copy is not for you, this isn’t a Mint copy! It is a good listen throughout though and the rich tones and dynamics you’d expect with such an early pressing are certainly there for you to hear. The disc sits flat and rotates flat on the turntable.
Inner Sleeve: VG
The inner is generally clean with no stains, marks etc, but (not unusually!) the seams are split to some extent on all 3 edges, and mainly on the bottom where a repair has been made but the tape has since fallen off and left a residue, along with a split of about 7cm on the edge. The other split to one of the edges is much smaller at around 2cm and there is a 5cm on the other edge but only at the top where the edge joins the opening. There is also slight damage at the top of one side with a small tear, although none of the sleeve is missing. Not the worst inner of this LP I’ve seen by a long way, but it has the often seen splits etc to the edges…
The record is currently housed in a high-end Nagaoka poly inner, which will be included.
Matrix Numbers:
2401 012 A//3 1 2 14 Pecko Duck
2401 012 B//3 1 2 4 PORKY
Labels: EX
Nice and clean with no writing or other damage and perfectly clean. Some very light spindle marks can be seen when held to bright light.
Please note I grade conservatively. No overblown, overhyped description. I describe as I see.
Postage and Packing:
Records are stored flat outside the sleeve prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
