LED ZEPPELIN

Title : Led Zeppelin III       Label : Atlantic      Cat No : 2401002

Matrix : A-5 Do What Thou Wilt / B-5 So Mote It Be       Issue : UK 1st Press Plum Atlantic LP

This is the UK 1st press of Led Zepellin III. This press is complete with the earliest A5/B5 matrix and hand etched text Do What Thou Wilt / So Mote It Be and has the 'Under Licence' text above the white strip. It has the 1st press only Peter Grant credits on both sides of the label.  It is complete with the original polylined warning inner sleeve and Atlantic Deluxe rotating wheel gatefold sleeve, however what makes this earliest press so particularly special is its original sensational condition.

The record is in Near Mint condition. The jet black vinyl has a stunning high gloss, every track gleams. Both sides have a sensational mirror like shine, every track is absolutely superb. There are a couple of the very faintest wispy lines but these are just from the inner sleeve. There are no play marks at all. The label is also in fabulous condition. The colours are immaculate, no wear or fading at all. The black text is sharp and there is NO spindle wear, just a couple of the light spider marks. The record is complete with the original polylined inner sleeve in Excellent condition. This is the original 0970 dated inner sleeve that came with the record when it was bought, it has not been replaced.

When played the heavy earliest press vinyl sounds exactly as intended. Sensational audio separation, bold deep bass and all of its original warmth and clarity. Faint static crackle can be heard in places; the quietest moments and between tracks but this is normal and does nothing to spoil the enjoyment of this sensational album at any point. It is in fabulous condition.

The Deluxe gatefold sleeve is in Near Mint condition. The original owner stored it in a plastic sleeve and as such this sleeve is in rare solid, bright, unworn condition. The die-cut circles have no wear at all, they are immaculate. The edges and corners are firm and the text is sharp. The colours are vivid, the white is crisp and bright and the black is bold. There is just the very slightest discolouration around the edges. The spinning wheel is perfect. The spine is still very firm with a heavy black background and crisp white text. Inside it looks absolutely sensational, incredibly clean and bright. The whole sleeve is as solid as the day it was bought.

This rare earliest press is 100% complete and original and in the most sensational condition.
