1969 FILLMORE WEST POSTER

 

(this is not a reproduction but an original 1969 poster)

 

This is an original 1969 poster (known as the "Avacado" poster) that advertises the bands which were on at Bill Graham's Fillmore West concert hall in San Francisco on April 25 & 26. Featured were headliners 'Led Zeppelin' supported by 'Julie Driscoll & the Brian Auger Trinity', 'Colwell Winfield' and 'Brotherhood of Light'.

This original 1969 poster measures 13 7/8" x 20 3/8" and was manufactured on thick card - the two later 2006 limited edition re-pressings (1,000 each) of this poster, from the Bill Graham Archives, are larger (14" x 21" & 22" x 32"), were pressed on thin paper and had "Wolfgang's Vault" in the lower right-hand margin.  So it is easy to tell the difference between this original and the re-pressings.

The condition of the poster is good considering that it is now 45 years old. There are no writings or doodles and no blu-tak or sellotape marks. There are some creases, some edge wear and a tiny hole; and the rear has some minor staining - see photos. This is a remarkable piece of Led Zep history and you are unlikely to find another original poster of this concert again.
