Description

Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti

Swan Song SSK 89400 1975 UK

Condition Vinyl EX+++/Near Mint/Sleeve EX++

This is a Double 12" record LP - this is the RARE Original Ist Issue UK pressing on the Bands own Swan Song Label in `Kings Road` High Rise Building Gimmix Sleeve with Thick Card inners - this is the RARE 1st Issue without `WB Logo` - Matrix/dead wax/runout groove - A1/B5/C1D1

Vinyl - You will know from experience if you have owned this album, that the Vinyl suffers badly from the rough inner card sleeve rubbing against the disc (whether it has been played or not) and leaves surface scuffs, these are usually quite visible under bright light! So I am amazed at the condition of these records that they are in incredible condition -  Disc 1 Looks `AS NEW` in Normal Light, under bright light scrutiny I can just see the lightest of sleeve removal marks, Plays `As New` - Disc 2 Looks `AS NEW` in Normal Light, even under bright light scrutiny I can hardly see any sleeve removal marks, just a couple of the lightest which is absolutely amazing for this LP, also plays `As New` - I have seen hundreds of these over the years (all marked) and while not perfect (do they exist??) these 2 are as good as I have seen!!

Labels - UNMARKED & CLEAN with NO wear, even under bright light scrutiny I cant see any spindle lines - these records are almost unplayed!!! they also have the all important credits `Made in UK` on the label and `NO WB Logo` same on both discs (see scan) - some people mix discs from later issues beware!!

Sleeve - Original UK `484 Kings Road, London` Gimmix cover in GREAT condition, Completely Readable TOP Spine, All the Edges are Solid and Square with NO bad Wear, some light corner wear, SHARP OPENING which is amazing for this LP sleeve!!  - great idea of having a tenement block with interchangeable pictures seen through the windows (can change between 6 different options which have different people in each window or just close the blinds) the fragile window frame cut outs are in superb condition with NO damage, there are a couple of creases which are visible when turned to the light, This really is a BEAUTIFUL copy of this classic sleeve  - NO Graffiti (forgive the pun!)/NO Tears/NO Sticky label problems etc

Inner Foldout  - Original `1st Issue` Foldover card with rough grey inside and `Kings Road` address on, this one has a Spine later editions were much thinner with no spine - has NO bending creasing, damage etc would grade this easily as EX+++!

Inner Sleeves - both inner sleeves are card! not paper (as on later versions) and have the brown rough interior (thus the reason why this LP is always affected by surface marking) - both would grade as Mint, Amazingly NO knifing through the sides - the sleeves have the two distinctly different pictures as they should (sometimes people mix and match these and sell them with 2 identical inner sleeves)

Rarity (some things you should know about collecting this LP) -Genuine 1st issue UK copies are the most sought after, the vinyl should have `Manufactured in the UK` Printed on the label, the 1st issues had no `WB` logo on the label (the later issues had a small black circle `W Logo` on the label at about 2 O`clock) - the 1st Issues had either A1/B4/C1/D1 or A1/B5/C1/D1 on the run out grooves. The sleeve should have the `Swan Song, Kings Road, London` address on the rear of the front cover and the fold over insert (which had a spine), the original inner sleeves had a rough texture inside where the record sits that's why the majority will have some paper scuffs on the vinyl surface when viewed under a bright spotlight (In Through the Out Door suffered the same!!) - this album can be a minefield to collect if not careful - needless to say this item you are looking at fills all the right criteria!!!

Why not buy more than 1 item and save on postage costs

Just a note on Grading - I always play grade my records right through and unless stated they do not jump, skip or stick when played!!! I always view the vinyl under a very bright halogen spotlight!!! Why? because although I have excellent vision when viewed under a normal light or even worse a fluorescent tube (most shops have these) the vinyl will not show up how marked it truly is - some view records in daylight but this has to be done in direct sunlight to see the hidden marks - I do this so that I can give the full picture and should please even the most `critical` of collectors. Also I photograph the WHOLE of the cover (I don't cut off the corners or edge) so you can see as close as possible what you will receive!!

Postage/packing: I use new professional record mailers with several cardboard stiffeners to protect the cover - the record will be placed in a NEW clean inner sleeve, removed from the record cover (saves ringwear/pushing through seams) and together with original old inner placed in a NEW pvc outer sleeve - I also include recorded delivery as standard in the overall cost in the UK (70p) it covers up to £30 in case of loss - it will be optional for international packages (as it is more expensive) but still advisable! - please note complete postage charges (below) before bidding!

Payment - I am quite patient but if I have waited a couple of weeks for money and sent reminders unless there is a good reason I will claim back my fees and give a nonpaying bidder strike - I don't charge for Paypal!

Returns - If you feel there are any problems with an item you have purchased please feel free to contact me - I will be glad to discuss the matter as I want people to be happy with their purchase!!!
