Description
This is an archived MINT copy of Led Zeppelin’s classic double live album, The Song Remains The Same.
The recording of the album and the film took place during three nights of concerts at New York's Madison Square Garden, during the band's 1973 North American tour. All songs were recorded by Eddie Kramer using the Wally Heider Mobile Studio truck, and later mixed at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Trident Studios in London.
The sleeve design depicts a dilapidated movie house on Old Street film studios in London, where the group rehearsed for their 1973 tour.[2]
Until the album and the film were remastered and re-released in 2007, they featured slightly different track lists:
The soundtrack album included "Celebration Day", which did not appear in the film. The album did not include several songs featured in the film, including "Black Dog", "Since I've Been Loving You", the introduction to "Heartbreaker", the instrumental "Bron-Yr-Aur" (which appeared on Physical Graffiti), and a hurdy-gurdy piece called "Autumn Lake".
In addition, some of the recordings featured on the album were of different performances from those in the film.
Some tracks recorded at Madison Square Garden were omitted from both the film and the soundtrack album: "Over the Hills and Far Away", "Misty Mountain Hop", "The Ocean", and "Thank You".
THE VINYLS
The vinyls are both in such PERFECT visual condition. They look ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE, also including the original black inners. “NM+++”!!!!!!!
Includes original STRAWBERRY credits in the runouts!!!
Matrix Nos:
Side 1: SST-89402-A
Side 2: SST-89402-B
Side 3: SSK-89402.C-6
Side 4: SSK+89402+D
Might I add, the vinyls both play VERY well indeed, with no bombardment of heavy crackle, skips or jumps or anything major. Sure, there is the obvious light crackle and things you can hear at times, but no distortion or anything horrible! I’ve actually never had a copy of this album that plays without crackle! A SOLID PLAYER.
Definitely one of the BETTER ones I’ve had!
THE SLEEVE
The gatefold sleeve is in a GREAT “EX” condition, containing the original intact booklet with NO TEARS!!!! However, the bottom has come undone, although it can EASILY be glued back together. I just don’t have the time.
There’s also some light tape removal which is barely visible on the photos, but trust me - I’VE SEEN MUCH WORSE!!!
By far one of the GREATEST copies I’ve EVER SEEN of this album!
Relisted due to arsey buyer who went completely over the top about how poor he felt the condition was; The real reason he didn’t want to keep it was he couldn’t sell it for over a hundred quid or more when bidding against himself on eBay, as he has over 30 reviews in the last 90 days from the same seller (GG SUPERSOUNDS) who sells any record for a RIDICULOUS price, usually to the same people (probably himself) which is actually an illegal act. He even put on his eBay recently he was about to list lots of “NEAR MINT LED ZEPPELIN ALBUMS!!!” Does that ring a bell?
Seriously, I have evidence.
