VERY early, and possibly 1st, US pressing - Presswell matrix (PR) W' in runout indicates that the lacquer came from the company Audiodisc. Matrix number tag '-A' laquers and 'RG' in run-out identifies mastering by Rob Grennell, mastering engineer for Atlantic in the late 60s.
Of special interest is the accompanying support documentation. Included are two pieces of public relations documents: 1) a press release from public relations firm Gifford/Wallace inc. of NYC to support Led Zeppelin's headlining appearance at the Schaeffer Music Festival in Central Park on July 22nd, 1969; there are hand-written notes pertaining to promoting the band on the back side. 2) a typed four page promotional article on stationary for Rogers, Cowan & Brenner, Inc., a high-powered PR firm in Los Angeles. The name Richard Cole is hand-written on both documents. Cole was the infamous road manager for the band; look him up on Wikipedia.
The LP is still in it's original shrink and there are no spindle markings on the labels. The vinyl is pristine and appears to be unplayed.
It will be hard to find a better copy of a 1st issue of this seminal release.
