On sale here is a fantastic copy of "LED ZEPPELIN 1", the 1969 debut album from LED ZEPPELIN. An album that surely requires no introduction whatsoever. This is pressed on the plum / orange Atlantic record label, and most importantly is the rarest, and highly collectable pressing, with the turquoise lettering to the laminated cover, and with the "superhype" credits on the labels.
The album is in great condition for saying it is now 41 years old. The deep black sheen is still there. This has been played!! and there are a handful of light marks evident. Please note, these are only superficial marks. The deep groove first cut of this album on high quality and heavy vinyl really withstood a lot of play. This plays with a minimum of fuss and with great power and verve. I think we all know how collectable the turquoise cover is, but let's not forget the power and majesty of this first pressing vinyl. This is missing in all later pressings. This does not play perfectly silently. You try and find a first pressing that does. However, this plays to a high standard with just the odd bit of background here and there in the (hard to find) quiet moments. I believe the winner of this will be extremely well pleased. This is a really nice copy.
Cover grades a solid EX-: (This has light laminate creasing. No rips, tears, writing. Only real notable items are a tiny sticker tear, top right front, and a tiny pin hole in the top corners where the cover has been displayed).
Inner sleeve grades a solid VG: (Patents applied for, made in England text, but has a slit from the edge of the disc on its east and west side of 1 1/2 to 2". Slightly age discoloured).
Labels and vinyls grade VG+ easily: (This is a visual grading. I grade to Record Collector guidelines. I grade strictly, so what you read is the minimum you can expect to receive).
Audio reproduction grades VG+ easily: (Both sides play really well. In the quiet parts the odd background can be heard if you are looking (listening) for it. There is the odd soft click or dust pop, but on the whole this a great copy and still one of the best listening experiences in the world of rock music).
So a cracking album from the true rock icons. Some of their best and most well known tracks are on this. A great addition to any rock collection. In fact a must! The rarest, most valuable and highly collectable of Zeps albums. If you are reading this, you know its potential value. You know its place in the history of rock. I do not need to fill reams of paper discussing its virtues. Don't miss this chance!
