THIS IS A UK 1973 FIRST PRESS ISSUE OF THE LED ZEPPELIN ALBUM "HOUSES OF THE HOLY" ON THE ATLANTIC LABEL K 50014
THIS IS A RARE ISSUE BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS IT IN FABULOUS CONDITION BUT IS ALSO AN EARLY ISSUE WITH FIRST PRESS MATRIXES A2/B2 AND IS "STERLING" STAMPED IN THE DEAD WAX,HOUSED IN A LYRIC INNER
Dead wax info (inc mothers/stampers) is as follows:
side 1:K 50014 A2 STERLING
side 2:K 50014 B2 STERLING
Record (label):Mint
Very clean with no bad wear,there is no damage on the hole and NO SPIDER/SPINDLE MARKS around the hole
Record (Visual):Near mint
The record is very strongly graded.it lies flat on the turntable with no warp.when you look under strong light as i do you can see a few light hairline marks..no bad scratches at all,these lines could have been caused by removing the record from the inner sleeve
Record (Audio):
The record for some reason plays lesser than the visual grade,it has some light static crackle in places and a few low level clicks but it still sounds great and the music is strong and loud!!
inner sleeve: Near mint
The lyric inner which was "printed in england by macneill press ltd" is superb with no damage including no splits..just tiny bit of wear..minimal
Cover: VIRTUALLY MINT
The gatefold wide spine cover is PRACTICALLY MINT!! with no tears,stickers or damage.The edges and the wide spine have no rubbing or splits.The only reason i have not graded mint is because on the top corner tips there is a very tiny bit of rubbing...very minimal..and a tiny bit of light record indentation at the top (i am being hyper critical of the cover)a lot of people would grade this superb cover as mint!!as these are very problems considering the record is 36 years old..there is not a lot of shelf wear and no damage
