LED ZEPPELIN
Atlantic Promotional EP: Excerpts from Atlantic LP SC 8216
1969 promo-only 45 rpm 7" stereo disc, with original picture sleeve, by Rock legends, Led Zeppelin. This disc, was issued to radio stations on a highly limited basis to promote album sales for the self-titled debut album by the group, entitled simply, "Led Zeppelin". The two songs they picked to promote were "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" (great song, but not hit material), and the immortal, "Dazed & Confused". Stereo 45 rpm singles from the 60's are a bit of a rarity in themselves as most radio stations of the day were still broadcasting in mono. (They did not become commonplace until the 1970's.) 45 rpm EP's ("extended play") usually had 2 songs per side. The EP format allowed Atlantic to fill up each side with these two songs, which are full-length with no editing, each clocking in at more than 6 minutes apiece.

Sleeve/cover for this EP is super clean with just a tiny bit of creasing. No stains, tears, splits, writing, holes, etc. (Our 'Gallery' photo is of the A side sleeve and disc. The second photo is of the 2 'B sides'.) Sleeve grade is a solid NEAR MINT.
Vinyl is super clean with high gloss. A side has a light scuff or spindle mark which does not affect play. There are no visible scratches on the disc anywhere. We are dubious that this disc ever saw any actual radio airplay, as it has no radio station markings and is in such good condition. However, it has clearly been played a bit over the years. Vinyl plays with a little light crackling but very clear sound. Disc grade is solidly NEAR MINT.
Please note that this is an extremely rare Led Zeppellin collectible indeed-from our personal collection-which is rarely offered for sale. This is attested by the fact that no copies are currently being offered anywhere that we can see, nor have any surfaced on eBay in the last 60 days. Online research shows this item going for some pretty high sums when it does occasionally surface. We're going to start the bidding low and let the market dictate the price.
