Here's How it was done:
Using only the original analog master tapes, the renowned team of Steve Hoffman & Kevin Gray remastered and cut all of the titles at AcousTech Mastering, which features a pure Class-A disc-cutting system. AcousTech is located at Record Technology, Inc. the plant where the vinyl was pressed. It is a tremendous sonic advantage to have the pressing plant plating department & mastering room in the same facility as Steve & Kevin could cut a lacquer and plated immediately. This prevents the degradation of the grooves in a lacquer which is very fragile to quick deterioration.
And of course cutting at 45 speed is the audiophile choice for the highes quality. A 45-RPM record is sonically superior to a 33 1/3 variety because of a 35 percent reduction of groove curvature compared to a 33 1/3 cut.. It means that while you can't fit as much music into a 45, the undukations of the groove that your cartridge has to track are stretched over a longer distance. For these reissues, the music was displaced onto four sides, meaning each side contains about 10 minutes of music.
This is the ultimate reissues. The only way you'll get closer to this classic music is to listen to the master tapes or have been in the studio with the artist originally during the actual session.
You should never pass up the opportunity to upgrade your collection. They're each very limited in their pressings and disappear with extraordinary quickness from the vinyl market. This causes prices to skyrocket because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Don't second-guess yourself with this chance to upgrade your collection because before you know it, the opportunity will have passed forever.

LEE MORGAN LEE-WAY 180g 45rpm 2LP
Incredible Jazz Records + the original analog master tapes + cut at 45 RPM + mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at AcousTech + pressed on two 180-gram virgin vinyl LPs by RTI = THE ULTIMATE LP REISSUE!
The same formula that made the Fantasy 45 Series perhaps the most successful audiophile reissue collection ever is now being reapplied to Blue Note reissues!
This 1960 session was Lee Morgan's last for Blue Note before he left the label. Of course, he'd return in three years to cut a little diddy called The Sidewinder, which tended to overshadow all he had done before. Lee-way, an all-star affair with Jackie McLean, Bobby Timmons, Paul Chambers and Art Blakey, features beautiful solos from all.
This album is unique within Lee Morgan's vast and rich Blue Note discography. The trumpeter abandons time constraints and stretches out on four, soulful, hard-bop compositions. These hard bop masters are constantly inspired by Blakey's explosive grooves.

Lee Morgan Tom Cat BLUE NOTE LT-1058 STEREO ISSUE
The most common reaction after hearing Lee Morgan’s Tom Cat is “why on earth didn’t Blue Note release this at the time!”. The great trumpeter, only 26 at the time of this recording, and his all-star cast with Jackie McLean, Art Blakey, Curtis Fuller and McCoy Tyner are a who's who of the mid-1960s hard bop scene. Quite simply, this is one of Lee Morgans’ finest sessions. Even Blue Note owner Alfred Lion, when asked, was hard pressed to understand why a session of this caliber was held back. However Morgan was recording so frequently for Blue Note during this era that several of his finest recordings were lost in the shuffle as the label looked for another hit to rival the massive success of Lee’s The Sidewinder. The reasons are somewhat obscure but in any case, this classic outing sat in the vaults as Blue Note slowly declined, became inactive and by 1981 was reduced to being a reissue company focusing on its past glories. With Morgan no longer around (having been shot in 1972 by a jealous lover while performing at Slugs night club in NYC), it’s as if Lee Morgan is speaking from the grave, pointing out future directions for younger musicians. This memorable, innovative and soulful music is for many listeners one of Lee Morgan’s best recordings.
Musicians:
Lee Morgan, trumpet
Jackie McLean, alto saxophone
Art Blakey, drums
Curtis Fuller, trombone
McCoy Tyner, piano
Bob Cranshaw, bass
Selections:
1. Tom Cat
2. Exotique
3. Twice Around
4. Twilight Mist
5. Riggarmortes
Lee Morgan Candy BN-1590 MONO EDITION This classic Blue Note session finds trumpeter Morgan not having to battle other horns, just front-and-center with an all-star trio behind him. It was his only quartet recording as a leader, for Blue Note. The exquisite Sonny Clark on piano, Doug Watkins' solid bass and the ever-tasteful Art Taylor behind the drums complete these sessions recorded in Hackensack by RVG in Nov. '57 and Feb. '58. Loaded with standards, it's a hard-bop masterpiece that both swings and shows the ballad side of one of the defining young trumpeters from the late 50s - early 60s. Not discounting the contributions from the rhythm section, the high-caliber interplay between just trumpet and piano is a rare treat and a marvel to behold.
Musicians: Lee Morgan, trumpet; Sonny Clark, piano; Doug Watkins, bass; Art Taylor, drums.
Selections:
1. Candy
2. Since I Fell For You
3. C.T.A.
4. All The Way
5. Who Do You Love I Hope
6. Personality
Lee Morgan Indeed! BLUE NOTE RECORDS 1538 STEREO ISSUE
Every genre has its prodigies. Jazz had Lee Morgan. At 18, Morgan was already a mature improviser with a sound and a confident style of his own. While influenced by Clifford Brown who died just a few months before Morgan recorded his debut album, Morgan was rapidly becoming one of the great hard bop trumpeters, filling the huge vacuum left by Brown's absence. He holds his own with altoist Clarence Sharpe and an all-star rhythm section that includes Horace Silver and Philly Joe Jones. As each note shows, he was not only a young trumpeter on his way but a great player from the start.
Musicians:
Lee Morgan, trumpet
Clarence Sharpe, alto sax
Horace Silver, piano
Wilbur Ware, bass
"Philly" Joe Jones, drums
Selections:
1. Roccus
2. Reggie Of Chester
3. The Lady
4. Little T
5. Gaza Strip
6. Stand By

LEE MORGAN SIXTH SENSE BLUE NOTE RECORDS BST-84335 STEREO ISSUE
If Lee was ever asked to record an albums so good that it would smoke all others, I have no doubt that he would say yes and keep his promise. "Sixth Sense" is one of those albums, it keeps knocking you in the head until you give in. I once asked a friend about Lee's later albums and he had his doubts but after listening to this, it becomes extremely hard to say no. Title track has a sort of quasi-bossa beat but it doesn't bear the feeling of his other Sidewinderish type tunes such as "Cornbread" or "Yes I can no you can't". The 3M front line (Morgan, Mitchell, Mclean) has a sharp and powerful drive. Higgins and Walton, two Morgan stalwarts, were perfect for the job. Higgins especially since he laid down the beat so heavily. The second session isn't quite as powerful as the first but has similar execution. Five notes for another great hardbop session from Lee

LEE MORGAN - CHATISMA - BLUE NOTE RECORDS BST-84312 STEREO ISSUE - NOTE THIS SEALED LP WITH A GATEFOLD JACKET HAS A SMALL JACKET BRUISE UNDERNEATH THE PLASTIC WRAP IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER.
A real bargain, "Charisma" is one of Morgan's better releases. Although he died young, the trumpeter built up a very impressive discography and established himself as one of the preeminent voices on jazz trumpet. "Charisma" displays Morgan at his hard bop best.
He has, as usual, surrounded himself with superlative talent. Hank Mobley and Jackie McLean both lend their distinctive voices on saxophone, Cedar Walton shimmers on piano, and Billy Higgins is his usual impeccable self on drums. Walton also contributes a superb composition, the wistful "Rainy Night," which allows Morgan to slow the pace down and display the lyricism of his horn.
But for the most part, this is mid-'60s hard bop at its very best, and Morgan displays complete command on the simple but very effective uptempo compositions that dominate the disk. The hardest-swinging and funkiest is "The Double Up," which winds up the disk and will probably make you want to immediately recue. All the players sound completely at ease, especially on "Hey Chico" and "Sweet Honey Bee," but they never sound bored or complacent. They obviously love the music and give it their all on each and every solo. Mobley, in particular, has a sound like butter that slides effortlessly through the changes, yet he never loses the sense of passion you want from a jazz solo.
The entire Morgan discography on Blue Note is worth owning, but "Charisma," like "Search for the New Land," "Sidewinder" and the later live recordings at the Lighthouse, is near the top of the list.
