This is 1957, first edition, “RVG” etched, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of LEE MORGAN’s “Lee Morgan, Vol.3” on the “47 West 63rd New York 23” labels of Blue Note BLP 1557. Musicians include Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Gigi Gryce, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, Charlie Persip.

FLAT RIM VINYL plays with consistent medium to loud-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks, some repeating. Noise very noticeable on ballads. t Locked groove middle of #1, Side 1. Loud repeating ticks end of Side 1. But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. OK gloss. Many hairline marks, some long; five or so couple feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd New York 23” labels show spindle wear. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in OK shape. Much peeling at opening. Corners worn. Top and bottom seams show cracking. Spine has 2” split. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows fading, stains. Please see photos.

     

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
