Description
LEE MORGAN: ORIG. MONO BLUE NOTE 1541 IN SUPERB NM+++ condition. The cover is factory fresh with deep, rich unfaded colors and full kabuki. There are no blemishes whatsoever except as follows: A small, discreet tape repair in the lower right hand corner and a very subtle one inch long manufacturing defect on the far right center of the front cover. This is not damage from handling or misuse. This is the way the record was originally issued. Please examine the pictures carefully. There are NO seam splits, tears, blemishes (other than those just mentioned) or imperfections. There have been NO repairs on the cover. It is fresh and as pristine as you could possibly want it to be. This is the original Lexington Avenue pressing issued on 12/2/56 in Hackensack, New Jersey. The vinyl is amazingly pristine, heavy and gloriously clean and shiny. I examined it under heavy light and there are possibly one or two surface paper scratches that are barely visible and do not sound. The record looks as if it were new and plays without any surface noise. This is a spectacular copy. The labels are also pristine. I purchased it in the early 1980s from the legendary collector and auctioneer Leon Levitt, who kept this in his private collection. I would go to his home frequently and we were close friends. He would allow me intermittently to listen to every copy of a particular rare record that he owned and pick out the best record and cover for my personal collection. This record is so RARE that he only had three copies, and he allowed me to secure the best one with the best cover. The record label has a DEEP GROOVE LABEL and a FLAT EDGE, denoting the earliest possible pressing. Both sides have the EAR and RVG stamped into the runoff vinyl. This is a one in a million copy that will be impossible to upgrade. The record is for seriously collectors only, and you should not bid on it unless you are very serious about purchasing it. I am selling off one at a time these Blue Note treasures over the year. I do not extend credit or make arrangements for installment payments. The full purchase price must be paid within 48 hours of winning the auction. Please ignore the stated shipping cost and wait for my invoice before paying for the record, which will be shipped in a hard back cardboard box and covered with bubblewrap and floated on styrofoam bubbles. Shipping to the USA will be $25.00 and international shipping cost will be determined by location. If you have questions about shipping cost or anything else, please ask them before you bid. I CAN'T SHIP ITEMS FOR THE FOUR DOLLAR EBAY SHIPPING CHARGE. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU EXPECT ME TO SHIP FOR THAT AMOUNT. Please bid responsibly.Payment must be made by Paypal within 48 hours of close of auction
