Fabulous session of Lee Morgan recorded at the end of 1963 with Joe Henderson, Billy Higgins +. In glorious MONO, this turned out to be the biggest hit Morgan ever had, as it received so much airplay on Jazz radio and listeners loved it. The whole album is great Blues-based Jazz, except for one track. The amusing part about The Sidewinder being such a big hit was Morgan said at the time he recorded it as 'filler' for the album. This very influential album started a new trend in Jazz LP's at the time to have a catchy theme track or tracks on LP's for the Soul Jazz sound. An essential Jazz LP for a collection!!
CONDITION :
RECORD : VG+++ (Notice in the photo that the label has a washed out appearence, we assume it was just a bad printing job, but to be sure, we listened to parts of the disc which we normally don't ever do, and it sounded great!! So the rating is for the play of the record and not the appearance)
JACKET : VG+ (Some light storage wear marks on front cover, along with a small amount of discoloring due to age, the back cover paper is slightly rippled at the spine, and had a sticker removed at bottom right corner)
