The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by René Leibowitz - The Power Of The Orchestra: Moussorgsky: A Night On Bald Mountain and Pictures At An Exhibition - RCA Victor VCS-2659 (1s/7s stampers) original deep groove, shaded dog "Living Stereo" first pressing of legendary high fidelity classical lp from 1963. Record is Near Mint; cover is VG++. One of the great RCA's. Recorded at Kingsway Hall by K. E. Wilkinson. Solo instruments are sharply focused, although not at all bright or unduly spotlighted. A superior sense of an orchestra playing in a richly ambient space is evident. Midrange to midbass dynamics are excellent, and low end dynamics, timps in particular, are simply explosive. Sparkle and snap at the high end. All with one of the great performances of Pictures. Nice!
