Description
Up for auction is a really nice copy of the Lem Winchester album "Winchester Special" released on New Jazz Records (#8223) in 1959. This is an original deep groove MONO pressing. Also features Benny Golson, Tommy Flanagan, Wendell Marshall, and Arthur Taylor. Great session. Cover is in beautiful shape, lamination shiny and bright, no bubbles or separations. Back cover is bone white, clean, with a factory stamp in upper right, and some small writing in lower left ("3X6"). Corners sharp, not bumped. Seams strong, no splits. Grade it Near Mint Minus (NM-). The vinyl is also in really nice shape. Retains its original luster and shine. Side A, last track, has one small hairline that can't be felt nor does it affect play back quality at all. Perhaps some very minor superficial signs of being taken in and out of paper inner sleeve. I have play tested this record, and it sounds beautiful with virtually no background or surface noise. Beautiful undistorted mono sound. It plays Near Mint (NM), though because of the couple of very small blemishes I'd grade the vinyl as EX+. Overall, this record is in very well-preserved condition and has been handled with extreme care in the very few previous times that it has been played.
