GRADING FOR 78s
My preference is to sell only 78’s that appear NEAR MINT (M-) so most of my 78s will grade out to M- or VG+
M- / a shiny, clean 78. Factory shine. No groove wear. No surface wear. Near new. Very few, if any imperfections.
VG+ / an above average looking 78. Still shiny and clean. Lite scuffs, and/or surface level, very lite scratces that do not interfere with the music may be present.
VG / average wear indicating the platter has been handled and played. Imperfections are visible and some might be audible during play. Lustre loss, and defects to lbls may be present.
*each side of the platter recieves it’s own grade (‘A’ side / ‘B’ side)*
