You are bidding for a CLASSIC UK 50'S ROCK N' ROLL / SKIFFLE 78 RPM single by LES HOBEAUX called MAMA DON'T ALLOW backed with HEY HEY DADDY BLUES issued on the HIS MASTERS VOICE record label in the UK in 1957, cat number POP 403. The record is in excellent condition with excellent labels .The record has little wear with few slight surface scuffs and surface scratches but plays with no jumps and clicks and a minimum of surface noise. CLASSIC UK SKIFFLE from LES HOBEAUX with two great rocking tracks . LES HOBEAUX were one of the many who formed SKIFFLE GROUPS following on to the success of LONNIE DONEGAN, though they never never hit the charts they were one of the featured groups at the famed TWO I'S COFFEE BAR in LONDON'S SOHO, and even featured in a couple of films. LONNIE DONEGAN had a huge world wide hit with ROCK ISLAND LINE and started the SKIFFLE craze in the UK which introduced FOLK and BLUES to UK teenagers, DONEGAN was a huge influence kickstarting the UK ROCK, BLUES and FOLK industry,. and responsible for thousands of British teenagers buying a guitar learning a few chords and forming groups. The BEATLES STONES, DIRE STRAITS, QUEEN, VAN MORRISON, BILLY FURY, CLIFF RICHARD , all started by taking their first fumbling steps in SKIFFLE groups, before turning to rock and roll, or the blues, or folk. SKIFFLE only lasted about a year though LONNIE DONEGAN had a long series of hits right into the 60's and was selling out venues right up to his death a couple of years back, . RARE in decent condition, from my own collection.
