LES MISERABLES LP CANADIAN PSYCH GARAGE PUNK
I just acquired a huge collection of Canadian records. Many rarities are part of this find, books and magazines too. I will need a few months to go through them to see what I have. Let’s start with some of them.
Jupiter records decided that all their recorded output should be in the French language. This album is from 1967, which contain eleven cuts, ten originals and one cover. Poorly promoted and distributed, it didn't sell well, although retrospectively it's recognised to have been one of the very best French Canadian albums of the era. Many of the tracks are driving garage-punk songs, the pick of these are the Kinks-Influenced «Miserablement votre» and «Chemises a pois, Cravates a fleurs», which has good fuzz guitar acts. Tough garage-punk cover of the Rolling Stones' Tell me. Influenced by the Stones, Yardbirds and Animals, other tracks of note are «Vivre avec toi», which has a rather melodramatic introduction and with incisive guitar work spoken vocals. Recommended. Valuation of rarity in Vernon Joynson DFN is extremely rare (R3). Valuation of rarity in Hans Pokora RCD is very rare (3).

Condition: G (restored split picture sleeve – see pictures)/STRONG VG to VG(+) (looks and play VG+ but I prefer to stay strict in grading). About picture sleeve, two things I got say. The person who restored use black (to remove ring wear and splits) and blue. The job he did is impressive. No doubt it takes hours cause the result really looks VG+, more than decent.
