ALTHOUGH THIS album is credited as a solo effort by super guitarist Leslie West, it is en-effect the debut album from Mountain, the irrepressible and much loved heavy blues rock band, America's answer in fact to Cream. Formed by Leslie West this album was recorded as a three piece featuring Felix Pappalardi on bass and Norman Smart on drums. Musically its a heavy blues rock fest with West's snarling lead guitar and bluesy vocals taking centre stage - no compromise here whatsoever. There are some brilliant tracks here including 'Blood Of The Sun', 'Blind Man' (rootsy earthy electric blues), 'Baby I'm Down', 'Dreams Of Milk & Honey' and 'Southbound Train' all displaying copious amounts of guitar warfare and Leslie's terrific blues growl. If anything, this album showcases Leslie's brilliance as a guitar player with that thick unmistakable tone and incredible sustain - think Clapton meets Paul Kossoff. Highly recommended.
Beautiful copy.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Beautiful clean and shiny condition. A couple of lone spindle marks on labels and a few surface scuffs visible in bright light due mainly to sliding in and out of the inner sleeve. Grades as a near shop fresh MINT-!
Cover: No visible signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed cover! Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 49 years. Grades as shop fresh MINT!
