Titles are "The Fishing Blues' b/w "Hang Out Your Front Door Key" - two really nice sides played on slide guitar .............................................................Lew Childre became a Grand Ole Opry member in 1945 after 20 years of performing vaudeville and hillbilly music. In many ways, he nurtured early country music as he moved from the old 'song and dance' of vaudeville to hillbilly music, the forerunner of today's country music. A native of Opp, Alabama, he was born in 1901 as Lewis Everett Childre. Lew played the drums, trombone and trumpet while in high school and the University of Alabama. In 1923, he followed his performing calling with performances from Texas to West Virginia. Lew retired from performing in 1959, but continued his love of fishing by developing a light-weight fishing rod and reel system called 'Lew's Speed Stick'.

The record is in E- condition with very slight crackle on side 2.
The labels are fine.
