'OBSERVATIONS FROM A HILL'

on the GRAHAM CLARK RECORDS Lable cat# (none/acetate) year unknown
A rare and mysterious acetate, with a strong FAMILY connection.
Liberty was of course, their first record lable - but the lead song was a later recording to be issued on the 'Family Entertainment' album.
The vocals certainly aren't Roger Chapman - and it's unclear what other Family connection might exist. Apologies that I can't feature a sound file for this item, I can tell you it sounds not unlike you'd imagine a 'demo' might. It has an organ maintaining the melody, and it's held down with a capable drum, with nice rhythm guitar in a 'break'. The vocal sounds familiar, though I can't place why.
The other side has a Strawbs feel to it, perhaps another vocalist - but the same organ used on this one too. A bit of a 'West Coast' lead guitar solo, a nice laid-back feel to the proceedings.
It's a solid copy and in decent playing shape too.
The vinyl is VG++ to EX, great sheen - and plays well
