LIGHTIN' HOPKINS -LIGHTNIN' AND THE BLUES 
 HLP-1012
2nd Pressing
A true blues rarity in any form! I rescued this guy many years ago from an old house that was damaged by a fire. You'll notice "fire related damage" to the top front, and mainly the back cover. Everything is still legible. Top seam and spine are fully in tact and in great shape. Bottom seam from the mouth of record has about a 6'' split. It could be easily glued back or clear taped together... this is a thick cardboard LP cover. The front still has an great glossy feel and excellent color for it's age. There is NO smell to the fire related incident to this LP. So don't expect it to smell like a campfire when you get it, it doesn't...
The vinyl was also was subject to heat damage. The A side "Nothin' But the Blues" is warped and unplayable. This falls into the second song "Don't Think Cause You're Pretty" for about 30 seconds and from there on out the playback is great! Stamped matrix and nice gloss throughout. The B side "Blues for my Cookie" is warped and unplayable. The rest of this side plays great with no problems. Stamped matrix and nice gloss throughout. Basically, the heat got only to the outer edge of this LP causing the first track on each side to warp and become unplayable. 
Any questions feel free to ask, this is a great collectible for any blues fan. The cover alone can go for up to $200 bucks judging by previous eBay auctions. This is isn't in as great of shape as those others but at least you've got something to play with it!!
