Description
This is one of GEORGE CROTTY'S PERSONAL COLLECTION, of 80's Australian garage/alternative/indie albums...all of which will appear here over the next few weeks/months...If you don't know of him, George was one of the first ardent collectors of Australian music, if not THEE first (I personally met him in 1974 and he was well on the way then)...and he continued to amass the most awesome and complete collection of Australian 60's garage/beat/pop/psychedelic 45s , EPs, and LPs...and then the equivalent in 70's and 80's Australian music...he was a relentless label compiler as well. His worth to preserving knowledge of, and engendering all-round enthusiasm for Oz music is of no real peer...Glenn A. Baker even relied on George's amassed collection and knowledge on many many an occasion when compiling his many historic releases.
George passed away in July 2010...he was truly a unique character, and he's left a gap that simply cannot be filled.
Some of you who knew him or knew of him, would possibly be proud (or happy at least) to own this and/or others of his collection, I imagine....(I know I've kept half a dozen special items myself).
Anyway, you can guarantee he loved this - he was always very particular with what he kept.
