Vinyl VG Jacket G+/VG-
A few light scratches to the vinyl that don't really affect play. There is a noticeable "rash" from being stored in a paper sleeve for decades, but it doesn't affect play either. Most of the record plays totally killer - a strong VG, but the only notable issue is the strange groove wear on the last track of both sides that plays with occasional moderate distortion or quick flash of moderate crackle. Happens only a couple times on last track of side 1 (ultimately barely noticeable), but a bit more frequently in the last track of side 2. Not the end of the world, but pretty puzzling. Jacket has some creases, moisture stain at the opening, noticeable on the back cover, and 50% to 2/3 long seam splits on both seams. Spine is fully intact and legible.
These few auctions are of my personal starter copies, so most of them will not be in top condition, although occasionally I will upgrade from a VG or VG+ copy to a NM and will sell some nicer items. I've made some upgrades recently and just passing these on to the next owner, so all of these have been listened to and I shouldn't have missed anything. However, please let me know if there is anything I didn't catch. I won't be snappy and get defensive.
I took pictures in front of a bright light. None of the in-the-dark photography that obscures the scratches. All records will come with a couple close up record surface shots. Some notable sleeve and record blemishes will be also pictured.
I grade by the Goldmine Standard, but here are some additional clarifications as to how I will handle some issues that sometimes become a point of contention:
VINYL: M - does not exist. I will never use this grading. NM - no visible flaws, unplayed or played just a couple times. VG+ - at most just a handful of very light marks, but they will not affect play. VG+ is virtually flawless playback. This may stretch just a bit if it's a record over 50 years old or international record that comes with factory default playback noise. Basic noise floor will be close to nonexistent. I take VG+ very seriously. What many seller will list as EX or NM is VG+ to me. VG - a broad grade, but it's basically a nice listening copy and should satisfy most collectors. Visually the record may have quite a few light scratches or scuffs; however, the playback should be decent. (VG-) - one addition reserved for records that are generally strong VG or VG+ that creates unfortunate rotational noise or pops for more than 5 or 6 revolutions (heat damage, deep scratches, etc). I will never grade a record a straight VG that has ugly rotational pops no matter how clean it is otherwise. A skipping record will never get more than a G+ grade. G+ - constant crackle or other noises. Generally moderate, but might oscillate. G+ records should play through and may have a skip or two only if ultra rare and often impossible to find without serious issues. G - the crackle, ticks pops, other noises are more obtrusive, constantly in par with the music. However, a G record should still not skip (again, unless it's ultra rare and often impossible to find in other condition). F - multiple skips, could be trashed otherwise. Lip warp or other warping issue that make parts of the record either close to unplayable or unplayable.  P - cracked or otherwise damaged record that is entirely unplayable.
JACKET: M - pretty much doesn't exist. I will never use this grading NM - no visible flaws. VG+ - at most just a handful of negligible blemishes, like a couple light creases, corner bumps, very light shelf wear or ring wear. VG - same blemishes as in VG+, just more pronounced. They more obviously affect the presentation of the cover art. For the most part, VG graded jackets will not have any clear tape. Exceptions will be made for really great repair jobs that barely affect overall presentation. (VG-) - an addition for jackets that have noticeable chipping on seams or a very large crease, but the jacket is otherwise structurally strong and largely intact. G+ - seam splits, moderate and very noticeable surface wear. Could have some paper loss that doesn't terribly affect presentation. A well loved cover that still gets the message across. G - cover still fully there, but pretty beat. Artwork recognizable, but with pretty heavy wear. Full seam splits, but decently presenting artwork can go in this grade, F - very heavy wear, partial paper loss, etc. P - only a portion of the jacket still remains (only one panel etc.)
