LINTON HAUGHTON
1978? or 1979? (SHIELD RECORDS - SHD 01 (which is only etched onto the silent part/runout groove of the record).
Format: 12" 45
Origin: MADE IN ENGLAND
Vinyl Condition: NEAR MINT
(I keep looking at the vinyl to make sure iam not bigging it up, but iam being perfectly honest i cannot even see a single mark on the vinyl playing surface it is perfect shiny gloss finish like new! Just a light paper like scuff on the runout groove that is all i can see)
Sleeve Condition: VERY GOOD+
(Not perfectly white as you would expect for the age but nonetheless still in good shape, small 1cm seam split to top opening, but barely noticeable and comes complete with original inner sleeve)
The company disco sleeve 12" 45 also has the SHIELD RECORDS address which is 12 station road, Marston Green, Birmingham 37 and Telephone number.
This is one of 4 auctions of Reggae 12" records that i picked up recently with two by Linton Haughton and very rare in this condition. The story on how i found them is quite amazing in itself...just by chance i managed to presuade a guy who was about to dump a box of vinyl into the non recycleable trailer at the local refuge tip when i was there dumping some household waste. Mostly the records were exactly what he had said ...just absolute rubbish, but right near the back of the box was these 4 Reggae 12" singles that iam now listing iam sure some of you out there will cherish these!
