Description
This listing is for... LIQUID STONE "Here comes the weekend" / "Because of you"
Insanely rare UK 1981 1st press original!
5 years since a copy of this legendary single has been listed on eBay. Old eBay prices.. £500.. £455.. £432..
Buckingham based band Liquid Stone, often referred to as a cross between the Ramones and Undertones, recorded two great power-pop tracks in 1979 but did not release their one and only single until 81/2. Reputedly only a dozen or so original copies exist with hand glued labels... and this is one of them!!!
Supporting the UKSubs during their 1980 New Age tour, Liquid Stone built a reputation on energetic live performances and great songs with punchy melodic vocals.

Runout side A: RR 024 - A - 1 DAVE (etched roughly). A PORKY PRIME CUT

Labels: VG+ "Show signs of being hand glued by the band, but remarkably in good shape with no signs of aging. White with black text and band designed logo.
Vinyl: VG+ "Some visible surface marks and scuffs, but nothing serious that prevents the record playing through. Audio is actually deep and full with some minor pops and crackles at the beginning and end of each side. Amazing considering the low budget recording and manufacture of the release.
Plain white sleeve (never issued with a picture sleeve).
In my humble opinion... one of the rarest, and arguably best, DIY punk singles of the era.
