LIZA ROZA - Listening In The After Hours MEGA RARE 10" Hard Vinyl LP 1956
with The Tony Kinsey Quartet
on the Decca LABEL - LF 1243
Lita Roza was a star long before anybody had ever heard of the Beatles and is often refered to as Liverpool's first pop star, but although her career as a singer was long and successful she only had three UK hits. This 10" includes superb recordings of That old black magic, Too marvellous for words, The nearness of you, You'll never know and many other classic songs. It is unfortunate that Lita is best remembered for her cover of How much is that doggie in the window, with which she had a UK number one hit, but Jazz is what Lita was best at.
The vinyl visually is Excellent with just a couple of surface marks. The vinyl audio is great but for some slight inobtrusive crackling which is very common with hard vinyl. The inner sleeve is Superb with no creases etc.. The Outer Sleeve is also in lovely condition given its age, with just a minor tear at the opening edge. Hopefully the pictures should give you a good idea of this lovely record
