The Illinois-based LIVIDITY guys, who have served their bloody butchery on countless EPs, splits and 3 full lengths albums for more than 15 years, served their first new stuff in 2009 with ''To Desecrate And Defile'' after around three years. This album is more or less exactly what you expect from LIVIDITY. Here, 13 numbers of brutal U.S. Death Metal are cut with a slight grindcore side. The interplay of both elements is still appealing and the vocal mix of deepest growling and screaming also fits perfectly with the rest of the music. LIVIDITY will certainly not win anymore innovation award in their lives, but they do their job very well within the rather narrow stylistic limits of their genre, as always. So ''To Desecrate And Defile'' is one, if not the most catchy LIVIDITY release, but fortunately the brutality and uncompromising didn´t suffer. This limited black vinyl edition comes in a Deluxe Edition with gatefold cover in extra slipcase, limited to 200 copies only.
